How do I sell items without tracking numbers with an eBay STORE without getting dinged by eBay

I have several items that I could sell on eBay that are simply not cost effective to pay the minimum 4oz postage to obtain a tracking number. (USPS collector First Day Covers) I sold these items on eBay before I transitioned to a STORE many, many years ago. Without a STORE, I could simply mark them as shipped. But now that I have a STORE, I will get dinged by eBay if I don't print a label or add a tracking number. I have been a Top Rated Seller for several years and do not want to loose this status nor my 10% Seller Fee discount. However, I really want to get rid of this stock. I could NET over $8,000.00 on it. While the market for it is on eBay, I'm not able to find a market for it elsewhere that I trust.

Under the circumstances you describe, I think I'd just start up a second selling account devoted to low-priced items, and leave your store out of it. Buyers will be searching for your items without regard to whether they're in a store.

You don't get 'dinged' by eBay if you ship without tracking numbers. As long as you mark the order as shipped, they don't care how you shipped it.

With that being said, a tracking number adds a layer of protection for the seller. It will win INR cases.

Smart customers realize shipping isn't free. I'm a TRS and charge shipping without losing money... you can, too.

The only way to do it without losing that TRS status would be to sell those items on a separate account.

Just affix postage (purchased at up to 50% discount on Ebay)  and drop in the mail box. 

There is no defense against dishonest buyers on Ebay but, you are OK as far as I know from my personall experience  (sold hundreds of collectors covers) this society (collectors) is not into cheating at all 100%.

You have 2-3 options.

1) Sell enough of your OTHER items to keep these without tracking from messing up the 95% thingy from TRS

2) Open a second account and sell them there.

OR 3rd option

3) Put enough shipping costs on them to cover tracking ( some will pay it others won't) and ship them as packages.  You simply have to bulk them up enough to make them thick enough to go as a package.

Personally I ship my bracelets without tracking if they buy 1 of them, but I ship my non-sports cards WITH tracking and make the buyers pay it.  Based solely on the fact that while I can ship 500 bracelets w/o tracking and 498 get to the customer... Some how shipping 10 non-sports cards the exact same way 6 out of 10 became INR's.

Buyers still bought the cards.  And you can get multiple orders to the same buyers if you set it up so that they pay shipping on the FIRST item, but the rest ship 'free'.  I charge a flat 3.50 for 1 card or 100 cards, most will buy multiple cards at once to get the "free shipping" on the extra cards.

The only way to avoid loosing the TRS status would be to open a second account.  I seem to move in and out of TRS status annually as I too have periods when I sell many small items, such as postcards, that fit easily into an envelope and just don't sell for all that much.  But what I have found is that my savings in postage more than makeup for any discount provided by TRS status.  Now if you are also selling many high price items then your mileage may vary.  But losing TRS status does not seem to affect my sales one iota as few people notice or care.

The OP is worried about losing TRS status and the 10% discount.

TRS requires this:

"Tracking uploaded within your stated handling time, and carrier validation for 95% of transactions to US buyers."

I think that is what the OP means by "getting dinged".

Yes, I do get "dinged". These go against the "tracking number never uploaded" and the "tracking number not uploaded in a timely manner" category.  Even after marking them "shipped", I've had to call eBay and get them removed from my "late shipments" category.
