How do I retract an offer, the system fired off an automatic offer before I could turn it off.

This idiotic auto offer fired off ANOTHER offer to a person immediately after the previous offer ended so I couldn't even get to it. This is driving me nuts.

I wanted to turn off the auto settings, but it doesn't allow you to change offer settings when there's an active offer outstanding. So now I have to wait three days for it to expire. I swear this platform has ways to drive you postal.

On top of that I don't see an option to send out other offers to the other watchers now. This is killing me this ebay.

You can end the listing and relist, otherwise you can leave it active, wait out the current offer then turn off auto-offers.

Auto-offers is taking care of it which is why you can't manually send offers.

Re: How do I retract an offer, the system fired off an automatic offer before I could turn it off.

I thought of that, but then I'd lose all the watchers and have to gamble on human nature that they'd seek and watch again. I think that's the only option and it's a bad one unfortunately...shocker ebay.

I mean what the heck is this stupid thing gonna make me do, wait the split second again the second time before I can change the settings? This whole mess happened for some reason it decided to send an offer to a single watcher for unbeknownst reason when all the others where already done and over.

The logical thing would be to allow the change but have to wait till that straggler offer to end in worse case and then after the offers would stop.......but NO...ebay decides you're in offer hell loop. This is so lame..who coded this site?

The good thing based on your profile  is it looks  like you don't send offers very often.

This link might help you -  personally don't play the  haggle or auction games on  eBay - just do buy it  now and move on.

I don't know why people found this helpful, but that link is dead.

And I don't know what you meant about "personally don't play the haggle or auction games on eBay - just do buy it now and move on."

@comicsun

Watchers aren’t buyers. Don’t put too much stock in their existence.
If they found it once, they’ll find it again.

You are an inexperienced seller with an expensive item for sale. That always attracts flies.
I would suggest you not entertain offers at all. Offers are an extra layer of complexity that new sellers with expensive items can get tangled in.

You will need signature confirmation for items over $750.
The funds from the sale will be held for up to 30 days.

No returns doesn’t mean no refund. It just means you don’t want the item returned to you.

An $800 listing is a wild way to learn about eBay.

I think he considers sending offers to buyers to be a form of haggling. If so I agree with that opinion.

1. it came  from a copy  & paste search posted on  eBay's help and contact link   Looks  like I  clip off the =4019

https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/buy-now/making-best-offer?id=4019

2.  That  simply meant  I personally don't make best offers ( aka haggle) or engage in auction bidding listings and buy it at the BIN (buy it  now) price.

That link doesn't work for me either, but this one should: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/buy-now/making-best-offer?id=4019&st=3&pos=1&query=Making%20a%20Bes...

It's best not to remove any part of the URL for the help docs, even when it's long, as I've found that can break the links.
