How do I recall a package?

Need some help here. I will be short as possible.

Sold an item over $200. Listing details / description stated signature required. Too many porch pirates & fraud these days. I wanted to make they received it.

Delivery attempt was made on the 19th. Note: when the USPS attempts delivery, they leave a notice. Shipped on 17th priority mail with signature.

Buyer sends e-mail on 20th asking if I sent with signature requirement. (I responded twice on this day with details).

I responded stating yes and that it was stated in details / description and cut and pasted the information.

No response from buyer on either e-mails that day.

I sent another e-mail to buyer on the 22 & 23. Asking for an update. Are you going to pick-up at your local post office or reschedule delivery? I stated today (23) that I will recall the package tomorrow morning if I do not hear from you.

Buyer has had the opportunity to pick up on the 20th, 22, and 23!

How do I recall the package and just end this?

thank you for your time

* I believe some of you know where I'm going with this from similar posts that I have read.

How do I recall a package?

Did you check the USPS website at all? Did you perform an internet search for "recall USPS package?" Anything?

I searched for "usps package recall," and the VERY FIRST RESULT was:

Hope the link helps answer your question(s).

How do I recall a package?

I had a similar experience. I called USPS to have the package returned to me. They said, "no problem". I was transferred a few times, put on hold, and finally they told me the request wasn't going through for some reason. The USPS representative asked me if the label was generated through eBay. When I told them that it was, they informed me that there was no possible way to recall an eBay generated label. The system won't let them. Either the buyer picks it up within the allotted time frame or after that time period expires then they will send it back to you. If you generated the label through a different service or directly on the USPS website, then you can just call USPS and give them the package details and they should be able to reroute it. They (eBay) must have an agreement with USPS so a seller can't recall a package. YMMV, but that was my specific experience.

How do I recall a package?

thank you

I was looking at the tracking page of the package.  It only offered a redeliver from the buyers position.

How do I recall a package?

I have tried to recall on line and it says I cannot.

I guess I need to visit my post office in person to figure this out!

How do I recall a package?

Why do a recall? If the buyer never picks it up it will be returned to you.

I don't understand why some sellers are intent on refunding, I sell here to put money in my pocket not give it back to buyers or pay USPS unnecessary fees.

But they have 15 days to do so. Maybe they've been working long hours. Maybe they're dealing with a sick family member. Maybe they know they have 15 days to pick it up and they're planning on doing it on Friday along with all their other errands. Has the buyer actually told you they weren't going to pick it up?

@hudsolutions2011

I have recalled packages with labels generated through eBay.  You can do it online - no need to call the USPS.

How do I recall a package?

Update!

Buyer stated they could not pick up at post office until this Saturday (2/27) and then sent another e-mail stating they would put the request in  for re-delivery on the USPS website and would be back tomorrow the 24th. ????

Package was re-delivered before 10 a.m. Eastern time on 2/24.

Close to midnight (2/24), the buyer sends an e-mail that item is not a 2XB. I asked for photos and also stated they can return for refund as long as tags are intact around 3 a.m.

no response after almost 12 hours! # usps 9510811456491048634715

How do I recall a package?

final update

I had a feeling this was not going to be good!

on Feb. 23 buyer sends this message: I am out of town on. Business and will be back home tomm..I signed and put a not for the post office to put the package in front of the front wall on my porch so no one can see it..my neighborhood is very safe and i have packages all the time come and never have had any stolen so i thi k we will be fine either way but I'm gone all the time during the week hence this is what makes it so hard for me to simply get my package.

On the 24th (the next day), they send this: Here us the problem..this hoodie was advertised by you as 2XB...the tag on the hoodie says it is just xxl...not 2xb...the only reason I bought this was because u advertised it as 2xb

I asked for photos of the tags, the inside collar, and then one with both together in the same photo. I did this because there was another listing active at the time for a 2xl. I was thinking they may have bought that item and waiting for it to arrive to take photos and send to me.

I even said they can return for a refund as long as tags are attached.

After some contact. This is one of their final comments. Read the last sentence and note he is admitting that he did buy the other listing and claims he will have them combined to fit. Come on Man!

After following up on status of my request for photos, This is their response on the 26th:

No..there was another hoodie that was the same only it was going for 75 dollars and it was xxl...I bought urs because it was was 2xb and the tag said 2xb but the item says just xxl on it..I over paid for your false advertised item and I took the tag off before I looked at the tag on the hoodie and so it's too late..I cant send it back..thanks for misleading me and having me pay way more than i ever have had for a hoodie..yes i did like it that much but i am now stuck with an item that i could have just bought for 75 dollars but instead i am just buying 2 and spending the money to have my seamstress alter and use some material from the one hoodie to widen the other hoodie so that's what i have to deal with now bc the one that should have fit me does not...have fun with the money you tricked me into spending. I will not be giving you good feed back either unless you refund me part of the sale.

Feb. 26th they follow with this: I have been out of town since the one day I was back so I was not able to get a picture to u I still am out of town until tom

So their out of town for the week, but then pop back in sign the slip and leave note on the 23rd. On the 24, sends me a message that the size is wrong. If they state the size is wrong, then they must have been home on the 24th to open package. Never would send photos! Still tries to say they can't because they are still out of town.

They left a negative claiming I stuck them with the item! I will try to get that removed. I have already reported them.

I had another theory on this, but  rather not explain incase I'm feeding information to someone who likes cheating sellers. If you want to really know contact me under your active seller account.
