How do I list a cosmetically broken product

How do I list a product that’s broken cosmetically but otherwise functions perfectly? For example, if I was to list an iPhone X but the back glass is completely shattered would I list that as for parts because it might not be practical to use the phone anymore or should I list it as used since it still works fine?

Also I’m new to selling so I’m not aware of how someone could scam me? How can I prevent myself from being scammed because the last thing I want is to potentially lose money or be blamed for something I didn’t do.

If it functions as it should then list it has damaged but working.  Pictures make sure to describe all the damage.  Pictures.  make sure the customers know that the item other than the damage works as intended Pictures...........did I mention pictures lots and lots then offer to take more.  A video of it working would be a plus as well.

One problem is you need specialized equipment in order if separating the glass. You have to use a laser machine that burns off the glue. So I can’t just replace it easily otherwise I would.

Right, it can be a tough replacement - where I live there are small shops that do just this kind of work - have batteries replaced, screens fixed, busted buttons on laptops fixed, etc. etc.  They do have the equipment for this kind of thing.  So it's fixable, but it needs to be taken to someone who won't rip off the customer like Apple does.  They also buy and sell.  For the price Apple wants for their products, I'm not surprised you want to sell it as a fix or repair and try to get a little back on it.

Hell is empty. And all the devils are here.
