How do I know if a listing link was stripped from an eBay message?

Messaging with buyer, included a direct link to one of my eBay listings formatted: ebay.com/itm/XXXXXXXX

In my Sent messages folder the URL is there.

In my Inbox messages folder, the URL is stripped on the buyer's reply where it auto-quotes the message they're replying to. That's not something the buyer can edit - the system automatically pulls the message history.

How do I know if eBay stripped out that URL on the message shown to the buyer? Any idea kyle@ebay ? It's never been missing from the quoted message on reply before now.

Hey @wastingtime101 thanks for the tag.  Other than the obvious way of seeing what is quoted on their reply, there's not really another way for you to see what exactly went through or not.  That being said, it shouldn't have been any issue to include your item URL.  I suspect it just didn't carry over in full when the buyer replied.  You may be able to tell if they got it or not just based on the context of their response.

If you're still not sure, you can always contact CS or email us to double check the messages themselves.

Kyle,
