How do I keep a Best Offer from being added to my listing? Update for December 2020, please!

I cannot find an answer as to how to turn off the best offer being added to my listings. Does anyone know?

If you do not have a store, eBay is likely just adding it to your listings. You will need to revise each of the listings, each time it's added.

If you have a store, and they are doing it, then you would need to talk to CS.

Yep... you'll have to revise them, but you can do it in bulk. Good luck.

I don't have a store, and yes, ebay is adding it to my listings. I don't want a "best offer" on my auctions. Is there a way to globally turn this off, rather than having to edit every single listing??

From your Seller Hub, choose Listings/Active. When they're all up, choose the box to your upper left to select all the Active listings. When they're highlighted, choose Edit Selected/Edit All.

A new screen will populate and you'll need to click the box to your upper left again, to select All again. Choose 'Edit Fields' and from the list you'll want to choose 'Price, Quantity, Best Offer'.

From the next screen, select 'Best Offer' and from the drop-down menu, select 'Remove from all'. Finally, select 'Save and Close' and then 'Submit changes'. Confirm if it's requested.

Clear as mud, no?  Good luck!

Nope. This is eBay's "gift" to you for using free to you, listings. If you have a store, you don't have this issue (usually).

Be careful too, because when I used free listings, they would just lower your price too. They would at least send an email and notify, but that wasn't the point.

I would also advise to avoid auctions, for the most part. Few items do well in auctions, and few buyers want to wait on them. Do a buy it now. Even though that is how this site started, it's not a widely loved option anymore (auctions) for most things.

This solves it -- however, I want to have an opening price and a buy it now price. When ebay adds "best offer," they remove my BIN price. I then have to re-add it to every single auction, individually, because the prices vary.

If you are using the Quick Listing Tool, ebay will add "Best Offer" to help sell your item.

If you don't want them doing that, then switch to the advanced/business tool.  That will be in the upper right corner when you go to list your next item.  You will have more control over your listings.

You can use eBay's mania for "Best Offers" to your advantage, whether you list with auction or BIN. In the Selling Details section of the listing form click on the Best Offer click box. Just below that you will see two click boxes marked "Automatically accept offers of at least" and "Automatically decline offers lower than". Click both these boxes and enter your lowest acceptable price in both. If a buyer makes a lowball offer, it gets automatically rejected and you will never get a notice or email. If the buyer makes an offer equal or higher than your lowest price, it will get accepted and the item will close the same way as if the buyer did a BIN. And you don't have to be bothered with all the back-and-forth offers and eBay can't sneak in a BO without your knowledge. You might even get lucky as has happened to me now and then and the BO will be above your lowest price. I list auctions only but it works fine for me. It still can't stop nagging emails from problematic buyers, but that's what your BBL is for.
