This is the first time this has happened to me.
I had a GSP sale the other day.
I think it was going to Australia.
A few days after I shipped it the buyer messages me "How do I cancel this order?"
For what it's worth, I don't accept (remorse) returns.

Dear Buyer,
When the Postal Service gets possession of a package, it is not possible for the buyer to cancel their purchase. That is why there is no option to Cancel within your Purchase History screen.
I am not sure about paragraph two, since you have a No Return policy.
You are welcome to open a return case.
Sincerely,
Seller
I would not want to spend the money for a Package Intercept. That may not be possible once the package has left the United States.
The GSP may not be in existence because it has been replaced by eBay International Shipping https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/shipping/ebay-international-shipping
One of the benefits of this service for sellers is that they pay the expense of returns. Study the link above for further clarification.

What...NO Returns?!

Need we say eBay's return policy trumps yours?
Methinks you know how this could end.

How do you handle it? Just tell the buyer that the item has been shipped and canceling is no longer an option. That punts the ball into the buyer's court and you just wait to see how they respond.

I understand that in a NAD return, but how can this be a NAD return when the buyer has not received the item yet? This is (or will be) a remorse return.

I was goin to say this, but with a small change. I would not mention anything about canceling and just say “Sorry but your package was already shipped out. It should arrive to you soon.”
And totally leave it up to them on how to reply to you.

As much sense as this makes, I see the best thing eBay would do for you is force you to accept the remorse return which will be disguised as a NAD return. They’ll agree with you in chats and phone calls, but nothing will change on record when it’s a NAD. Depending on the cost, if you find a sympathetic ear MAYBE they’ll pay you out of pocket. Don’t hold your breath though.

Would it be possible to ask GSP to cover the return? Techncally the goods are "basically" in their court(somewhere between there and there). You did your part by shipping once you got the order. Hey...Just spit balling!! 😉

Oh come on. You've been on eBay and on this board long enough. 🙄
It is a NAD return whenever the buyer says it is.

If it is EIS, eBay pays for the item under a NAD. No expense to the buyer or seller.

Too bad he did not message you til after you had shipped.
And, with the news that you "don't accept remorse returns", perhaps the buyer will be sharp enough to use another reason, like NAD.
