How do I file a complaint against ebay customer service agent?

Im so angry right now I cant see straight!  I had a small technical issue with a new thermal printer. I just needed to get the labels to face up & down, they were printing side ways. I bought over 8 labels for orders and printed them out .  I just needed a simple tech answer. The agent I got was a TOTAL NUTCASE. Jan ( her name) said there is a "worldwide bug" attacking all shopping sites and not allowing anyone to print labels anywhere so I should buy my labels directly in the post office store in person instead of online. I am not kidding!!! --- I HAVE CHAT TRANSCRIPT TO PROVE THIS ---She then WITHOUT TELLING ME or ASKING ME, CANCELLED ALL OF MY LABELS THAT I PAID FOR & supposedly refunded me. I did not ask her nor did I need to do that. I told her she was misinformed about this "pandemic" she claims. I continued printing my thermal labels with success now because the problem fixed itself from the main ship label page but I was totally unaware of what she did. Only  after wasting all of my thermal labels that cost A LOT of money ,she said my money will be refunded. I said WHAT MONEY???

That is when she told me she canceled my orders. ALL OF THEM. I kept asking for a manager but she hung up on. me.

No, I was not rude. I was stunned. The next lady was not crazy but tried to cover up for Jan.

Canceling my labels WITHOUT MY PERMISSION & NOT TELLING ME , has got to be a firing offense. I mean and then to make up this pandemic crap??? Where do they find these people?

She needs to have a complaint  brought on her. I am out all of my thermal labels I had to trash not to mention the time I am out. My orders will now be a day late because of this nut bag!

Is there any way to talk to a real manager when you need one? They would not give me anyone else.

I have never had anything like this happen before. Usually it's pretty easy & they are polite & helpful but not today.

You mean to say this customer service rep actually went in and cancelled all your paid transactions that you were preparing to ship?

 

Do you mind posting exactly how you got in touch with customer service in the first place? Did you use the live chat? Or request a call back?

 

If this rep did indeed cancel your paid transactions (sales to buyers), have you contacted your customers to try to explain what happened?

That's what I gathered too. That the rep canceled the labels and refunded for them. 

 

However @boutique_369 's post is confusing. 

First:

Then:

@boutique_369 - Was it the labels or the whole orders that were canceled?

At the end of the post the OP said "My orders will now be a day late because of this nut bag!".  I assumed from this that the orders were not canceled.

It sounds like you called in to complain your shipping labels printed incorrectly and needed help.  What else could this person do?   Getting her headset to function properly is likely a challenge.  She's not trained to troubleshoot and solve technical issues for printers.   She can't reprint them.  She can't operate you printer.  She can cancel the labels allowing you to reprint. 

 

I would have called customer service for the printer not eBay.  Seems as odd as calling Brother or DYMO if I couldn't get eBay pictures to upload.

I had to read your post with one eye shut.  Many, many of these eBay CSRs are either just not trained or trained just as eBay wants.  Seller loses either way.

You tried to print a bunch of labels.

The printer would not cooperate.

You were concerned that you would be charged for the labels that were not printing.

The Rep cancelled the labels.

This solved the potential problem of being charged for unused labels.

You were then able to print the labels.

You will (eventually) be refunded.

 

What is the actual problem?

The charges will not be instantly refunded?

The parcels will be delayed a few hours?

Yeah, well, the OP also said, "That is when she told me she canceled my orders." That's why I posed my comment as a question. Notice the question mark at the end?

Hi again. Sorry for the delay I was talking to another ebay agent. They did not cancel my orders just all of my shipping labels. But the new agent walked me through getting new ones. 1 order was actually given to the PO guy when he picked up my other boxes. It was shipped with a voided label so I'll just have to wait & see how they handle that. I'm grateful they all were not shipped. They almost were!

 

There is nothing I can do from here except wait on it to see if it gets delivered.  They also claim They filed a complaint about the agent , I don't think I really believe them. But I don't care. I'm not angry anymore.

My orders are okay except for the 1 that got sent. And ebay did refund my money. I'm 1 day late in shipping because of that stupid lady but oh well. Funny thing is they mysteriously lost the chat transcript of the bad agent. But again. I don't care. It all worked out. I just hope nobody else has to deal with her. Thanks for the replies.

She didn't need to cancel your labels.  That was totally unnecessary.  It probably caused frustration with some of your buyers who didn't understand why they got an "item shipped" notification and then another one saying it wasn't shipped. 

 

Once you figured out how to get them to print correctly, you could have just reprinted the ones you already paid for. You can print them well after the time you purchase them.  Somebody at CS needs to be retrained. If it used all your thermal labels and you have a regular printer, you could print on regular paper and tape them on until you replenish your supply.

I think it should be fine. When you void a label with USPS, it's more accurately described as a void request, because there's a lag time of... can't remember now, but I think at least a couple of weeks, during which time the system waits to see if label #12345678901234 is actually used after all. If it shows up in tracking during that time, no void request will be credited.

 

I don't believe they return the package or mess with its travel in any way; they just don't refund the postage because tracking shows that it was used after all.

Oh thats a relief. I'm glad to hear that. I've never had to deal with this before. I am still so shocked she canceled or voided all of them without asking me! It wasn't even the problem. Then to make up this crazy story about a global shipping pandemic. It was just so bizarre. She needs mental help not just retraining!

You don't make up wopping lies like that.

And yes I hope my customers don't hold it against me for having 2 tracking numbers. The whole thing was bizarre. I'm just glad it's over.
