How do I arrange for local pickkup?

So far I have found no real instructions for to arrange with the customer for a local pickup to be paid in cash. Everything I read covers various issues, but appers to asume that I should alread know how to do It. What I have read simply brings up even more questions. Evidently, Ebay somehow gets some kind of fees by local pickup, but I am not sure how. I have many items listed with local pick up to be paid when picked up as a option. Should I arrange for the customer to pick it up by use of Ebay message? Does the customer click something to let Ebay know that they wish to pick it up locally? If not, and I arrange by message for the customer to pickup it up and pay cash,  how does Ebay get their fees? Do I manually remove the item from my listing after it is pickup up? Or is there something I am not aware of that one ha to do to show Ebay that the customer has picked up the item, so that Ebay may charge their fees?

The final value fee for any ebay transaction is charged to your eBay invoice immediately at the moment that the item is Sold.    Then if the buyer doesn't pay, there's a process for getting a credit for the fee.

When you are in a transaction with a member, you can use the Advanced search link for "Find cotnact information" to pull the member's info including their phone number.  When ebay gets this request they automatically send dach meber's contact info to the other member.

It used to be easy to make arrangements using ebay messages, but lately ebay sellers have been getting warnings about arranging off-eBay sales.  This doesn't make any sense when you are communicating through a listing that's already Sold!
