How do I add smaller Shipping increments for multiple purchases?

Over in my selling account I have some listings with multiples available for purchase. I already offer a steep percentage off if you buy 2 or more. What I am stuck on is that I have a base Shipping charge to cover the first one - but it seems that if someone wants to buy more than one then eBay just adds the Shipping charge all over again for the 2nd one (or more if the buyer wants more than 2).

I know I can ship multiples in the same box for less than that so I do not want buyers discouraged by that overestimated Shipping charge - plus I could swear I have seen other sellers doing this: base Shipping for the 1st item and maybe just $1 or so for each additional. I am using the full listing form on a desktop but I cannot find that setting anywhere. Can someone point me to it? TIA...

Are you using a flat shipping rate?  Usually when you have listed multiples in a listing a second box will come up in the shipping section so that you can add a shipping cost for additional items.

That's how you would normally do it it you had identical items in the listing. If they are variations, that won't work unless they buy 2 of the same variation.   If they are variation you would have to set up a flat rate shipping rule in shipping preferences.  https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf

Once you did that you would need to check off a box on the listing page so that rule would be included for items bought on that listing and/or on other listings too.

If you use "flat rate" shipping you can specify "extra costs" for each additional item.   Go to Listing, Active, Edit (under shipping section) select FLAT RATE (specify dollar amount).

If one shipment is to NY and other to California (would be charged different rates).   If you charge "flat rate" (no matter where you live in USA) you better make sure to charge enough...otherwise you will lose money.

Also, if you ship via USPS you need to keep up with their constant rate hikes and seasonal surcharges.

Bingo! That was the answer. I always do Calculated shipping and rarely have this many multiples to unload so I have not had to go looking for a Shipping discount setting before now.

I think I might swap this item over to a flat rate charge so that I can take advantage of that discount setting if someone wants to buy more than 1. Shipping weight and dimensions are pretty modest even for multiples so no worries there. Thanks all!

You could also do a calculated shipping rule in preferences if you decide to stay with calculated shipping. The weight will change with items are added on but the box dimensions will stay the same.
