Hi sellers!
Do you know how correctly to embed youtube video into listing? I received email today from eBay that they will remove all active content from my listings soon and the email pointed all listings where I have embedded youtube videos. I do not have addiotional active content except videos. Usually I embed it with html code, but it seems like ebay will not really support that way soon. However, they say in new rules that video embedding will be supported. So how should I do it correctly?

I took the advice and installed a YouTube video using ISDNTEK link http://www.isdntek.com/tagbot/YouTubeConverter.htm
and was just notified by eBay
- your listings contain(s) contact information such as phone number, email address or weblinks, which is in violation of listing policies. Non-compliant listings will soon be blocked.
SO... back to square one! Uggggg

Has ebay allowed sellers to post youtube videos in their auctions again?

According to the eBay secure content help page, they allow it. The example code they use is as follows:
<video width="10" height="10" controls>
<source src="https://xyz.com/" type="video/mp4">
</video>
Since YT videos have the "s" in their url scheme, it should work, but I haven't tried it.

Ebay really neds to get with the program and implement their own video upload function for sellers.
They don't allow YT links because they're afraid of transactions happening off site, yet they don't have their own video hosting capability.
It's the 21st century, and the site operates like it did 20 years ago. How about putting some of those seller fees into a site update that can actually boost sales?

twindesignstudios, works great for me! Not sure why you think it's hostile, but ok.

Trendzinmotion, did you ever figure this out? I had problems too, until I made my listing, and then checked the "mobile-friendly checker" link and clicked on "fix it for me." It had something to do with meta tags and once I clicked on "fix it for me" it worked fine on my mobile.

Every time I call eBay Customer Service?? I tell them they need to BUY Vid.Me (Which recently & suddenly went out of Business in December, 2017 after DOUBLING their Membership) & that they could bring Video Hosting as wellas PICTURE HOSTING (By Buying PostIMG or IMGPost) INSIDE of eBay & Charge sellers a flat fee for a Terabyte of Hosting.
I'd pay for sure!.

I use the embedding code provided by that web link but it only works if the viewer logs onto eBay from a Java enabled browser, it will not work if the viewer is using the eBay mobile app (the usual error message appears about enabling Java etc.). Most mobile browsers (Google, Android) are Java enabled, not sure about Apple smartphones and tablets, I haven't tried.
It's still a major pain that viewers using the eBay mobile app have to go to their browser and log onto eBay to play embedded videos. I suspect that many lose interest and don't bother.
