How come my sold item said “shipped” when I only purchase label on ebay?
I don’t even ship yet.
Is anyone having this problem?
Do you know how to fix?

Problem, but no fix.
The shipping process has started.
In your "seller hub" it lets you know that you have taken the 1st step in getting that item on the way.
That is how eBay displays it for you. They are never going to change it to "label purchased", and then update to "shipped" when the item is scanned by the carrier.

There is no "fix". That is how it works. It lets the buyer know you are alive and are getting his item to him.

It might fall under 'Orders/Paid and shipped' to you, but your buyer only sees 'Label generated' until the scans start.
Edit to add: so your buyer knows when you actually ship it. As mentioned... no 'fix', that's just how it works.

No planned fix from ebay, probably. Per the other posted replies , that is how ebay works but it has been irritating buyers for years with no end in sight. If the shipping company origin scan is delayed more than 24-48 hours after that event, and delivery is more than a calendar week after my payment, I do not shop that seller ever again. There have been many threads on the community boards about it for 10 years now, just nothing really helpful done about it. comments fom a buyer only

Correction: on a buyers page the order details say "shipped" until I click "track package" and it then reveals the package did not go anywhere with text "shipping label created, xxxx awaiting receipt of shipment"

They should.

As soon as you print out the shipping label it will say "shipped".
To check the ACTUAL status, you have to look at the tracking.

Hi, If It helps any I have gotten into the habit of messaging my customers when their purchase actually makes it to the post office. They seem to appreciate it & I think that it is just Good Business!

Yes, I know that's how it looks from a buyer's page. The OP asked from a seller's viewpoint, so I replied, "It might fall under 'Orders/Paid and shipped' to you, but your buyer only sees 'Label generated' until the scans start."

Change the date on the label to the date you plan to ship the item before printing the label

Even doing that, I think it will show "shipped" as soon as you print out the label.

When the label is generated, the buyer receives an email that says "Your item is being shipped" not that it is shipped. This statement implies that the seller is working on the shipping process however, I don't know if buyers are aware of the subtle difference of shipped and "being shipped".

but your buyer only sees 'Label generated' until the scans start." from your post.
The buyer sees does not see "label generated" but sees "SHIPPED" until the scans begin, both in summary and view order details. When track package is clicked ebay then shows "label generated" but not until. Maybe you should sit down with a buyer and take a firsthand look sometime.
