I have a current auction with hundreds of views and 4 bids. A few things in the title, description and model number are incorrect. Please tell me there's a way to edit it! I've gone into "what details you can edit"- won't let me do it. You can get NO help from Ebay right now- no calls, VA- nothing! HELP!

Once you have bids, you can't edit it. The bidders bid on it as written. One thing you can do is at the end of the auction, send a message to whoever wins the auction, let them know the discrepancy and ask them if they still want to purchase the item. If they say no, then you should cancel the sale. Then relist it with corrections.
Another option is you can cancel the sale now with bids, but you will gain a deficiency from eBay, disappoint your buyers and you will also probably be required to pay the eBay fee as if you sold the item.
Your decision about which would be better in your situation.

@angiesobsession
If the auctions has bids, you can't change it, but you can add a message to the bottom of the listing.

That's what I was afraid of. But thank you so much for a clear answer. That's what I was thinking I had to do. This is a vintage camping lantern. Right as I went in to edit the listing- got a bid...in under 12 hours! Usually a good thing, just not this one time!
Whew! Thanks again!

For an auction with bids and more than 12 hours left:
You can:
You can’t:

I have looked all over when you click to "Revise" the listing. Have never seen where you can add a note. Can you help me with how I go about doing that?

That would be adding to the Description.
But that's not what you want to do. With so many errors, you need to END the auction. As long as it has more than 12 hours left, you can end it early, and as part of that process you will be asked to choose between (1) sell to the high bidder or (2) cancel the bids and end with no transaction. Naturally, you'l choose option (2). There is NO penalty for doing this. (There is sometimes a penalty if you cancel an actual transaction.)
Just cancel the auction ASAP.

If you cancel more than one auction with bids during a calendar year, then there is a penalty fee, but no scary defect on your account.

Well, before I ship it out to the highest bidder, I'd be sure to contact them and let them know about the problems with the listing. Let him decide if he wants the item or wants to cancel it. Better to be upfront with them rather than getting a return/refund/neg feedback. Not to mention the possible damage from shipping it around a few times.

The OP said, "A few things in the title, description and model number are incorrect." With so many problems, it's better to end the listing, make corrections, and relist.

Yes just like @kensgiftshop stated you may add to the description by going to listing..hit revise it..go down to the body of description and I would make it stand out like exp: **** PLEASE NOTE***** Update to original details..Model number is xxx xxx and so on..then hit revise it. And when a buyer wins, please message them about the new info and if indeed he/she seen it.

You know you are probably correct on this issue esp when there is a title boo-boo. If if was just something minor she could state that in the description. Best probably to end this and make corrections, thanks nobody*s_perfect!

your addendum should be sufficient, it includes the corrected info and immediately follows the initial listing information, people who are interested in this lantern will see it.

But members who have already placed bids won't see the addendum unless the seller notifies them about it. The addendum changes are significant: the item has been used, different year of manufacture, etc. At the very least, the seller should notify the current bidders about the changes, and should offer to cancel their bids for them if they are no longer interested in the item.

What I would do has not yet been suggested. You can cancel the 4 bids, so the listing is an auction with no bids. You have to do them each individually. You will not be penalized by eBay. Send each of the bidders a note before you do it, saying that you need to cancel the bids to fix an error you made on the listing, and invite them to bid again in an hour or whatever. Then with no bids on the listing, you can make the changes you want.

That suggestion has not been made because it is not possible to edit an auction that has received bids, even if those bids are canceled.
