How do you get over 900 bad feedbacks a year, and still have the privilege of selling things on eBay? I gave bad feedback where it was due, and lost my ability to have buyers protection!!!!!! That's WRONG!!!!!

Because it is probably a mega seller who makes thousands and thousands of sales a week so it falls into an accepted percentage.
But now negatives do not even harm your account anymore as long as they are not accompanied by a defect.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the seller in question is located somewhere in Asia and sells hundreds or thousands of items a week.
He's bringing in loads of revenue for eBay; that's how.

11 negatives in 16 years, personally I do not see as outrageous.
So I am not sure why ebay woud pull your buyer protection.

Feedback is not calculated into a seller's status. Too bad for neg-happy buyers, huh.
Feedback percentage is calculated by ALL feedback in 12 months time, not forever, and obviously a percentage is a PART of a greater number.
Did you happene to look at the seller's feedback BEFORE you decided to purchase the item? Would you still have purchased the item knowing the seller has a lot of complaints? Or was the price just too good, and you figured you could rely, once again, on your MBG?
If you lost your MBG protection, I can GUARANTEE it was not from leaving ONE lousy feedback. You would have had to violate MBG policies, a lot!
But, thanks for sharing, Best Buddy!

$2.73 with free shipping out of China doesn't get you much and expecting anything is just a pipe dream....

eBay can pull buyer's protection when they consistently abuse returns, MBG, and feedback extortion policies.
And that's why we have the report button!! (I keep warning scam buyers of this and apparently they do not care until the fan bag explodes).
I only counted her negatives. But yes, she could have put through even more complaints that she did not leave feedback on.
And if ebay is finally pulling buyer protection from scammers and extortionists, then I could not be happier.

Wow- the elusive banned buyer.
I thought they were urban myths.

Because
a) feedback is not considered when evaluating seller rating, and
b) depending upon the transaction, 900 negatives might not be high at all
(I understand that (b) can be a difficult concept for people who do not understand the concept of percentages. )

That particular seller is from China. Why do people continue to buy from China? 'Nuff said.

Why do buyers still buy from sellers who have 900 bad feedbacks in a year AND a 97% feedback rating?
The answer to my question is probably directly related to the answer to your question.
And would also explain why some buyers get kicked out of eBay's money back guarantee because they ignore all the clear warning signs and buy anyway, expecting eBay to pick up the tab when things go wrong.

You are so right! Have read SO many threads by buyers who merrily buy without truly vetting the seller, or the listing, then come to the Boards to say, but I was protected by the MBG, so why not?
Why not? Because the buyer is still expected to do their due diligence, read the feedback comments, evaluate seller, and listing, and not just think, oh, well, who cares/ I'm COVERED by the MBG...because the MBG should only be used if it is really NEEDED, not because you decided to take a chance and did not want to vet anything!
That is what leads to this situation...too many cases, bye bye MBG. Buy at your own risk. If you still have buying privileges!

JMO, but if it is so obvious to a buyer then it should be to ebay as well. And that seller should be gone just like a buyer who abuses the system.
And before someone says well ebay does not police their own system. there is a scam going on right now in the fine diamond category with scammers selling the same 3 tiffany & co diamond rings, which I have reported ad nauseum and nothing has been done even though the scam is so obvious.
