How can I stop ebay automatically going into Paypal without me having to sign in?

I accidently clicked keep me signed in when paying for something on ebay through paypal.  Now, it just automatically signs me in and pays.  Not liking it and want to go back to having to sign in everytime.  Help appreciated.  Thanks

Here's how to turn it off via the PayPal website:
  1. Log into your PayPal account.
  2. Click the 'Settings' icon at the top of the page.
  3. Click Security.
  4. Beside 'Stay logged in for faster purchases', click Edit.
  5. Click Log Out Everywhere.

No, you have to un-do that auto log in.

It's a good rule of thumb here to never let anything on eBay or PayPal  be automatic.  That also happened to me before I even realized that they were paying everything on a PayPal credit card.

I did that but it says click to enable (on Paypal) so it should not be happening.  I will try clearing cookies next.

It's obviously not a cookie thing, because the auto-login works on any device you use, even if you're using it for the first time.

I turned it off way back when accounts were being hacked somehow and they were sending mail to Russia. So long ago I don't remember how I did it, sorry.

Every time I get annoyed at having to relog in to do labels I remember why I did it LOL

It doesn't seem they are "working hard" to protect our accounts, does it? It shouldn't be this hard to figure out how to turn off a function you don't care to use.

Just like they've taken away the ability to find and sign out of "orphaned sessions"

Welllllllllllllll, you have to go through CS, of course.  They will tell you that you can't close your account because of activity (how that applies, I'm not sure).  They still have at least 3 accounts of mine active and I've not used them in 10+ years.  It is very doubtful that ebay EVER throws away, deletes or rids itself of ANY data that may be useful, at some point, on down the road.

The mail to Russia thing wasn't your normal hacked dormant IDs though. They were using active selling accounts and using them to print labels for shipments to Russia.

Never really got any concrete answers from T&S as to how they were able to do it but a lot of others also turned off the no click PP payments for labels. At least that way they couldn't get into PP to pay for them.

I must admit that I've never been sorry about not having PayPal.  For any of a number of reasons, and ebay being #1!

I've never really had any issues with PayPal, but anything I did, they were very quick to get it fixed.
