I sell heavy industrial equipment. I read about BEPP (Business Equipment Purchase Protection) instead of the standard "EBay Money Back Guarantee" for large industrial items. Here is a link with info: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/paying-items/ebay-business-equipment-purchase-protection?id=4637&st...
This would be incredibly helpful for me as a seller, because I sell used industrial equipment. I've had buyers use my equipment and then try to return it right at 29 days, claiming the item is "not as described". With the standard buyer protection, I'm forced to refund these buyers and I'm out the cost of freight shipping than can be thousands of dollars. I've called eBay numerous times in these situations and they almost always side with the buyer, as if the buyer was just returning a pair of sunglasses.
This BEPP policy would really protect buyers AND sellers when it comes to sales of large industrial items.
I just can't figure out how to add BEPP to my listings.
I can see that some sellers have a badge in the upper right corner of their listings that says "Business Equipment Purchase Protection". I still have the "eBay Money Back Guarantee" badge in the upper right corner of my listings.
There must be a store setting or a listing tool that allows for this..... I just can't find it. I called eBay twice and no one on the phone could help me. They acted like they had never heard of BEPP.
Does anyone have any guidance?

As it says in your link, the items have to be listed in specific categories "eBay Business in one of the capital equipment categories" and the price has to be $1,000 or more.
I didn't find a link or list that showed the eligible categories, so you will need to look at the listings you have found that have BEPP on them, and figure out what categories are eligible from that.
BEPP is probably like the VPP. It is administered by a separate company not eBay, so the eBay CS reps are not trained on the particulars because they don't have anything to do with it.

You are right. BEPP is like the VPP for vehicles. It is administered by a third party. There must be some way to invoke those protections while listing within eBay though.
Your suggestion about BEPP being category specific is a good one.
I'm listing items over $1000 under Business-Industrial-Metalworking-....... and so on. This seems like the type of product BEPP is designed to cover. I'll do some research to see if certain categories automatically proved the BEPP protection. I did notice that all excavators, bulldozers, and heavy construction items seem to have it.
