I have just recently received an offer of a buyer.
His account was created the same day, he wanted to ship the item to another address that is not his and wanted me to add a 300 USD Ebay gift card and I would additionally 50 for gas and expenses.
I have looked all over and I can only report a buyer that did not pay an item on an actual transaction. But because I did not accept this offer I want to denounce him and there is no place to do such thing.
Apparently the user was created in Poland.
This is the transcript of the conversation:
Thanks..I would love to have it mailed to my cousin, Please can you get an ebay gift card of $300 inside the package before you ship it, would appreciate you assisting with this cause I work away from home with the marines and not in the right position to have it mailed out myself, I will add $300 to your payment for the ebay gift card and an extra $30 for gas and street..and I will also add $20 for shipping cost
I am sorry but we won't be able to accommodate the extra request. We can ship the painting to any address you would like.
Yes' including the gift card and the package
Unfortunately not. We can only ship the painting.
I will add $300 for the gift card, $30 for shippingthroughUSPS /FedEx. and i will also add $50 for gas and stress? Areyoucool with that?
This is obviously a scam. I will report you to eBay right away.

The only way to report a member that has not been in a transaction with you is to call CS. Mostly this is a waste of time as the scammer will just create another account and continue his nefarious ways.
It is too bad that ebay cannot or will not ban new members based on their IP or MAC addresses.

One cannot use that link unless the "scammer" actually forked over some $$$ and paid. Those unsavory characters that just used the "ebay message system" are good to go....for the ability to "report" an inappropriate message has been removed.

Just a heads up, you should NOT "ship to any address they would like"... Only ship to the address that the item was purchase with and verified by eBay and PayPal.
But yes, that's a very common scam.
