How can I accept Best Offer if I can't find out where I'll be shipping to?

I sell quite a bit of golf clubs- sets and bags- sometimes even shoes. If I list with a best offer there is now no way to find the approximate location of the potential buyer to know whether shipping cost will kill me or not! This feature has been removed and I have been on hold- as has been the case for the past several weeks- for over an hour to get what should be a simple question answered. Additionally when listing an item the forms change and add details. Besides all that when I do list some items the details will populate with different sleeve lengths- brand and sizes. It's getting harder and harder to deal with eBay. If it ain't broke tell your IT people to go away and quit screwing things up. I lost pictures for 2 dozen items a couple weeks ago and rather than re-take pictures and re-list them I put them in a neighbors yard sale.

The buyer is supposed to pay whatever shipping cost was shown in the listing.

The last time I hit the button to send a counteroffer, the pop up window showed the buyer's ZIP Code.  But they can change it during the payment process after you accept the offer.  The only way to protect yourself against that surprise is to set up the listing with calculated shipping.

If you use calculated shipping, don't know what the problem is?  Shipping will be the same as if someone bought it without making an offer......so I'm not sure why you would need to adjust the b/o offer because of the address.  If the buyer changes the address at checkout, the shipping amount will change accordingly.

If you are using free shipping........yes it would be a concern.....

Why would you need to know where the buyer is located?

If a listing has free shipping, why would the seller care where the buyer is located?

Because the seller is bearing the cost of shipping.

If the item costs $100 and he gets an offer of $90, he's much more likely to accept an offer from a neaby buyer (shipping cost: $8, net $82) than a farther one (shipping cost: $20, net $70).

I live in South Carolina- If I have a set of clubs that weigh 8 pounds going to California versus Florida there is a big difference in shipping cost. Regardless I just spent over 2 hours on hold and had to finally hang up to eat! Geez… what is going on with trying to get someone on the phone?

Free shipping and free returns have nothing to do with getting Power Seller status or Top Rated Seller status.

If you are a Top Rated Seller, then you must offer 30-day free returns in order to get the TR-Plus badge and the 10% final value fee credit (in most categories). Those benefits do not require free shipping.

You must not ship anything over 1 pound. Had an 4# item go to Hawaii once and learned my lesson real quick.

The buyer's city and state are in the email that eBay sent concerning the offer. It is located at the bottom of the email
