The easiest thing to do is not send them unless you need to for combined shipping. Ebay handles that and they aren't needed normally. They can even mess you up if you use calculated shipping since it locks in the postage without knowing if that is the correct ship to address.

There's an option to CC invoices to your email - that's one way to track it. That said, there's no reason to send an invoice unless you have to make an adjustment, for example combined shipping costs or adding another shipping method the buyer requested.
eBay sends out payment reminders to buyers automatically every 24 hours. Sending invoices is a duplication of efforts and clogs the buyer's inbox.
Sending an invoice locks in the shipping cost. That could have a big financial impact on someone that uses calculated shipping. The shipping price gets locked in based on the buyer's default location, but if they change the address at checkout to have that item shipped to Mom across the country, that shipping cost can change by leaps and bounds and seller is out the $$.
Finally, sending an invoice resets the clock on when an order can be cancelled for non-payment when sellers handle UPIs manually. The automated system will cancel based on the seller's settings regardless of sending an invoice, but when you use the manual process and an invoice is sent it resets the clock, giving the buyer an additional 4 days before the system will let the seller cancel.
This page has instructions for the unpaid item process and setting up auto-cancellations in the future.

No reason to send an invoice? Have you ever actually sold an item on ebay before?
Why would ebay even have this feature if the there was no point to having it? Why not actually address the question I asked?!

I've sold on Ebay since 2011 and never have sent an invoice, I let Ebay take care of that.

I've been on eBay since 96ish & have never sent an invoice, once eBay started sending them for us. There's no reason to & it's annoying to the buyer. If memory serves me right & it's been a minute, since the beginning of eBay, so I may be mis-remembering, we had to do it back when eBay first started. That hasn't been the case in decades.

Not unless you need to make an adjustment to the cost as I said above, such as combined shipping, applying a discount, adding another shipping service option, etc. eBay sends automatic payment reminders to buyers every 24 hrs post-sale.

Yep, I have multiple active eBay stores that sell and ship every day. This ID I'm using is just for posting here because some people react poorly and decide to retaliate against people posting with their selling account.

As I said above, there is a point to having it: use it when adjustments need to be made.

The first sentence of my first post addressed your question. I'll copy/paste it since you didn't read it the first time around: There's an option to CC invoices to your email - that's one way to track it.

The Send Invoice option might be still there in case you really do need to send another invoice out after you've already sent one. I've only ever done that once. A person bought 2 things so I manually sent an invoice with the combined shipping. Then they bought another item and I sent an invoice again for the shipping amount. I've never seen where you can look up an invoice or not, but I do know that if you look in 'Order Details' it will show the revised shipping amount that you entered on the most recent invoice that you sent.
As everyone here has said, you wouldn't normally use 'Send Invoice' at all, since ebay automatically sends out the invoice after the sale. Only use it to revise the shipping amount before the customer pays.

@miamigotsoul wrote:Before if we sent an invoice it no longer said "send invoice".. now everything says "send invoice" under items awaiting payment, if you have already sent an invoice or not!
Why was this changed?????
How can we tell if already sent an invoice???
There is no need for a seller to send an invoice because Ebay automatically does that when a buyer purchases an item.
Just a note of caution. When a seller sends the buyer an invoice. It restarts the 96 hour clock when you can file for a Cancellation for non payment, of course providing the buyer doesn't pay.

Ebay has all kinds of features that not every seller uses. Since Ebay auto sends the invoice, there is no need for a seller to do it unless the buyer requests it or you need to make an adjustment or combine shipping.

Why are you abusing the tag feature like you did on @mam98031 's post, @miamigotsoul? I'm assuming it's you in this case, yes, but you've already been antagonistic towards them, so I have good reason. They're giving you good information: don't send invoices unless you're changing something. Why get upset with them?

I often send an Invoice to combine shipping, occasionally because someone wants to use a different shipping option than I offered in the listing and just because someone requested an invoice. I can add an additional shipping option on the Invoice and they can choose it if they wish.
When a buyer requests an invoice the ship to address is provided so the shipping can be recalculated if needed. If the buyer wanted to use a different address than what is on the invoice, then that may create a problem if they did not change it before requesting the invoice.
As for seeing the invoice you already sent, I don't know if you can see it unless you had a copy sent to yourself. You can however see that an invoice has been sent.
Go to your Orders section and click on Awaiting payments.
On the Awaiting Payments list If you sent a invoice under Date Sold it will say Invoiced with the date. If you send a new invoice then that date should change and allow another 4 days for payment to be sent.

Unless you're claiming you put the tag on there, you're not in a position to tell me what I am and am not right about in this case...

I do not claim to have done it. ( It is a fact that I did not do it)
Just pointing out that the OP did not 😊
Politely submitting that I am in the very position to tell you such🙂
