The question I have is what happens to all of our existing listings that have 1st class shipping? Ebay is automatically changing over parcel select shipping to USPS ground advantage but refuses to do so for 1st class packages. I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with a clueless member of "the management team" who basically told me it is my problem. I had to point out the email that was sent and the link it sent us to and show that they were basically dumping the problem in our laps. Of my 13000+ listings over 11000 ship via 1st class. Do they really think I'm going to start manually changing them all on my own? All I want them to do is to automatically switch them over to what they call "Standard shipping" in the drop down menu, which would then enable me to choose the appropriate shipping method on my end when I do my bulk labels through eBay each morning. All I want is to know that the eBay customer will still be able to purchase my item for the price shown with the shipping price quoted in my listing. I'm willing to do the rest. I am not willing to go in and manually change the shipping method for over 11000 listings myself.
IS EBAY GOING TO KEEP OUR EXISTING LISTINGS WITH 1ST CLASS SHIPPING OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO OUR CUSTOMERS?

On new items that I am listing starting today through July 8th I am going to use "standard shipping" from the drop down menu instead of "1st class". That should leave me with the choice of shipping options without specifying a shipping type that won't exist come July 9th and a little less work to do going forward.

For those with "business policies" it seems that it may be just a few clicks to change 20, or 20,000 listings if using "calculated" 1st Class. (depends upon your policy) Change, and select "apply to all.
If not using calculated (like me)(I set a flat rate by weight) It will be a "goat rope" for some. I'm a tiny seller with not that many listings, so I will be OK with doing it within 30 days.
Today I went in to change some of the written text in my discerption where I offer Parcel Select, or Priority.
I did that to get a head start on the new USPS name for shipping. I noticed that I now have "business policies". eBay opted me into it.
I went to look at the "business policies" in my "account settings" and noted that even though eBay had opted me in, the policies shown were not applied to any listings. (even though it shows in the listing itself)
As I revise the listings they not only show the "policy" in the listing, but now show as the policy being applied to ( XX) listings when I go to "account settings", "business policies".

to add:
even though I do not use "calculated" 1st Class, it may be easy for me to do many listings at a time where I have a set flat shipping like $4.26, and $4.51 with "business policies".
I'm not a big fan of "business policies", but may let it stay for now.

I can bulk edit the First Class listings. What I'm not sure of is how I'm going to separate out all of my first class listings, for editing, when I have priority, flat rate, calculated and other shipping methods for different items. There isn't a way to only select listings with First Class shipping to be loaded into the editor, and there isn't a way to only switch First Class shipping listings in the editor.
We need the ability to filter by shipping type. Otherwise, we'll need to go through our listings and select each with first class, one by one, which will be a very tedious and time consuming process for thousands of items.

Everything depends on your listings. In my case, bulk editing the shipping option from 1st class to ground advantage will be the first step. That seems easy enough as long as the bulk editor cooperates. The more daunting task will be updating all of my descriptions one by one because my descriptions relay to the buyers that the items will be shipped via 1st class mail. That is over 1.1K of edits!!! No choice.....will just have to crank out the description changes one by one. Regardless, lots of work beginning on July 9th.😎🙏✌️

You could start editing Descriptions right now, deleting references to First Class. There's no need to mention the specific shipping service in the description.

Exactly the problem anyone with lots of diverse listings will have. If eBay simply automatically defaulted all 1st class listings to USPS Ground Advantage, which it states that it is doing for parcel select listings, we would have many fewer headaches. But as usual, the entity which profits by taking a percentage of our sales and shipping fees refuses to do the simple thing that would enable us to keep doing business instead of busywork. And the sheep simply go along quietly. It obviously upsets me more than others.

They also change prices. I've seen several that I would NEVER use that amount. I could understand if there was a limit for them but that's highly unlikely. Good luck to you and may you have a prosperous rest of the year. God Bless

I have a mix of calculated and fixed price 1st class listings, along with parcel select / Priority ones. So, I'm apprehensive as to how the bulk edit feature will work out for me. I'm waiting for some helpful posters (wastingtime101) to show how to do this. I've not used the bulk edit feature in over 10 years. I looked around this morning and couldn't even find shipping methods, so I'm definitely going to need some guidance. I'm not holding my breath for ebay to help.
When this was first announced months ago, it was made to sound like an easy transition that wouldn't really affect us. I felt it might.

Many of my first class items have free shipping so I didn't add size or weight when I listed them - I just do that when I ship. So those items CAN'T be bulk edited to the new shipping service? Only the ones I have the size and weight to? Is that correct?

It says that you have 30 days to make the changes. So I'd assume they won't print your first class label as ground advantage after that. But then what of the ones we haven't yet changed???? What will they do with those?

I've been here 20 years too. We DO have many improvements since the beginning years I have to admit - but LOTS of new challenges too - for my old brain! I am guessing that the First Class shipping option we gave will be taken away (not seen as an option) and whatever remaining choices we gave for shipping will remain (which is always higher cost for the buyer than first class was). Just a guess.

@nobody*s_perfect... Good advice. Don't forget, @714ricki, to use 'Find and delete' for those bulk edits.

I don't think the listings will be deleted - just the first class shipping option if you have offered other shipping methods. However IF first class is the ONLY option you gave . . . then. . . .? That issue definitely needs to be addressed and clarified.

Yeah... but I'm kind of a "hope for the best; expect the worst" type of person. (Who has FC only listings...🤞)
