How To Get Buyers In Your Store?

So...Been Selling on Ebay for a Year but just opened a store a couple of Months ago and sales are just not that great, having good weeks here and there but days without one sale dont help pay for the store so my question is to the long time sellers is there anyway to drive more traffic to your store or get buyers to follow you so they see new items you list? WITHOUT more Fees, I know you can Pay for some but I dont sell enough to cover all the fees already.

I just looked at one of your items, and it's easy to see why it is not selling.

You have the book priced at $24.95 and in 5 seconds I was able to see 20 other sellers who have the same book priced at about $5.00 with free shipping.  Their books were pre-owned, but if anyone just wants to read the book, they will buy the $5.00 book.

It's always been my opinion that was what your eBay fees are supposed to pay for. If you are doing all the work to drive traffic, you should be driving it to a site that is either free or that has much lower fees. 

That aside ... 

Always remember that "driving traffic" is not the same thing as "getting sales". You items still have to be something that traffic wants to buy.

I looked at your: Nike Wake Forest Demon Deacons Jersey #10 Size Youth L (16/18) for 17.49 and free shipping. Then Ebay showed me your competitors had the same shirt for 9.99 and 3.99 shipping = 13.98. Guess where your customers are going. Its not your fault. Its just Ebay showing your buyer all your competitions pictures and prices on your listing. That's why some sellers call Ebay a race to the bottom. Meaning prices.

With a basic store use up 250  free listings on the eBay UK site this saves fees. My fees fell after switching from eBay USA to eBay UK. It cost me nothing to put BIN items up on eBay UK and you are seen in the global eBay market for no charge. Change what your selling as there is too much competition in your current selling field. Find a niche see my lots as an example. Advertise your shop on social media. Reach out to your buyers sometimes they may come back for something else.

I've read that your volume of business before opening a store should justify getting the store.

I am not sure many of the other poster currently have stores or have ever had stores, but I am very familiar with how to drive traffic to your store, and if that is what you are trying to achieve, then I would suggest starting out in the seller hub and look for the manage my store tab and learn how to use all the tools in that area.  Many of them are designed to direct buyers to your store and they work directly with the ebay search engine and external search engines as well.  Some allow you to use categories on your listing page to direct buyers that way.  You can set up a header with direct links to different areas of your store, and you can also learn to use promoted listing and promotion manager to also create more opportunities to have buyers go directly to your store to shop.

You have lots of tools available with your store subscription, now learn to use them to create advantages for yourself.  Go through all the links to see what they do and think about how you can use them.  You can go in a few different directions with about all of them to create store traffic.

In my category every item is unique. Although their are many sellers selling similar items each item being different brings buyers. Example is the 19th century British QV stamps on envelopes I sell. The stamps look the same but differ from postmarks and other things. Buyers go after place names on the envelopes. For instance I listed Wrexham Wales old letters from the early 1800s the other day someone from Wrexham bought them all. If I put up old Irish stuff someone in Ireland comes in. So unique items are more likely to sell. I put stuff up every day and every day some sell. I have 1500 free fixed price listings on eBay UK so I don't pay anything to list month by month. I sell to people all over the world including America. Some people buy from me and resell. Others collect. Others buy on impulse. The inventory is easy to manage and easy to ship. I get zero returns. So Op needs to get something like this unique to sell. And advertise them on instagram. I would be happy to advise further if someone is looking to get in this area of selling send me a PM.

I do a couple of thing that work when it's super slow. I throw some loss leaders up for $0.99. A sale helps too. I usually discount 10% - 12% and run it to end on Sunday or Monday night. Auctions mean traffic so I try to keep some auctions running every week. I also diversify, don't get me wrong, I still sell the junky old stuff I like but I usually try to have a wide range of different types of items.
