A guy opened a case against me last week about a broken item. I told him to return for refund. He never responded to his own refund request. How long do I have to wait to call ebay to close the refund request and cancel the shipping label he was send??? Thx for any responses.

I think The item needs to be scanned with-in 5 business days. I am not sure though! pam

If the buyer doesn'tget the item in the mail by the stated date, ask ebay to step in and help. Your funds will be released.

He got the item said it was broken. I asked for a picture. He gave me a story about how he couldnt do that. I then just said return for refund and aggred to pay for the return shipping. He's obviously not gonna return the item. Does anyone know actual ebay policy???

Did you send him a prepaid label?
He will have 5 days to upload tracking information.
Why don’t you know eBay policies?

5 days after you issue the label.
Buyer can still file with paypal and may be able to have paypal reimburse for the label.
Also, maybe a chargeback.
Some things arent worth returning. Price of item? Shipping?

If a buyer wants a refund for an item that didn't match the listing description:
We ask the buyer to ship the item back to you—with tracking information—within 5 business days. (UK is 16 days)
Your refund to the buyer is the total purchase price plus the original shipping charge."
I thought it was ebay that directs this, do you have any guidance or communication from ebay on the case that the buyer filed? Maybe the 5 days (business) hasn't passed yet? Maybe the buyer changed their mind?
I think it is ebay that closes the case when they see the terms are met, or in a certain time frame if the buyer doesn't close the case.
