Fairly new buyer, but not completely new... buys a stamp lot from me a few days ago. He's received some more offers from me, but hasn't managed to sort through them before they expired. I told him I'd give him 20% on any other stamps he wants.
He can't figure out how to send me messages for me to make offers, and some that I offered on have expired so I can't offer again. He decides not to communicate too much and just buys what he wants at full price.
I wrote him a note that said "I see you didn't get the discount I offered you, so I'm refunding you x$ for the discounted amount, plus the overpayment on shipping" (he paid shipping on the first lot, he only owed $0.65 more for multiple lots, so I refunded the excess).
He writes back thanks and tells me he's going to keep an eye on my listings, and wants to know what to do next time to get the discount so that I don't have to refund. (It would also seem as though he wasn't expecting a refund... they just love it when they get something back. I have rules, I follow them, even when a customer pays too much, I still follow my guidelines for what I promise customers on discounts and combined shipping).
All I can say is that I really needed good news today and I do hope my customer likes his stamps and comes back later for more. (He did buy quite a significant number of lots, more than I usually sell in stamps).
My partner found out today he has COVID, and the only thing saving me at the moment is that I've been in quarantine for over two weeks and haven't been able to see him. He's complaining of difficulty breathing and I told him I'd keep my phone on all night in case he needs me. (Not a lot that I can do. He said he left the back door unlocked in case he needs an ambulance). I'm very worried... I either never caught it yet or I've been asymptomatic. In any event, out of quarantine since Thursday, not wanting to go back in. My partner is over 60, and in a high risk group.
