Got stuck listing a bottle of Chloe perfume for a friend.
This is not my territory. And it will be a quick sale.
I prefer to use the USPS post office...no eBay shipping label and only going domestic.
I guess it goes ground. Or should I use UPS or FedEx? I would walk it to those locations if needed.
I have no idea of cost. Does anyone out there know the cost and what service to use.
It's 3 oz. Any restrictions not selling this brand?

And what is the eBay fee rate of selling perfume?

Why would you pay extra to buy the postage at the post office instead of just printing the label off ebay? I don't understand that at all.
Perfume like most things is 12.9 percent.
You will want to ship it USPS Ground Advantage. It will likely cost you less than $5 to ship, unless you actually walk it up to the post office for some reason, then I have no idea because I don't light my money on fire paying retail for shipping.

James I believe ebay doesn't allow used perfume so if it is you may want to see if this has been updated. I know it must go ground, that's all I got hun.

Hasn't been used...just no box. Thanks

If it's preowned it has to go in the collectibles category.
If it's brand new it has to include the box with full ingredient list.
Ship it Ground Adv but you will need to meet specific packaging requirements.

I expect about $50 going for shipping and eBay fee rate. It's at $150.
Person only wants $100.00.
It's not my territory of selling something like this.
I don't use eBay shipping labels.
Thanks.

You don’t have to print a label. You can get the QR code and still walk down to your beloved post office and have them print it for you. There are some packaging requirements for perfume you might need to look up.

Here is a link to USPS-not sure it will help. https://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52apxa.htm
this shows a chart of different materials and how they can be shipped. Generally, perfume is considered flammable and must be shipped ground. I would take it to the post office if sold because they ask "Anything liquid, fragile, etc." and they would want to make sure it is marked "Ground". If the item leaks in transit they will confiscate and not return it.

i see lots of used perfume listed in the collectible category...

I've sold lots of perfume. It's no problem to list in the collectibles category. To pack, I wrap in bubble wrap, them zip it in a ziploc bag. Then more bubble wrap in box. Never had a problem with leaking or breakage. I ship Ground adv. Always let the USPS know it's perfume. The post office puts a sticker on it. Usually costs about $8-$9 shipping.

The carriers consider perfume to be a dangerous or hazardous material, so you should look up the restrictions for each carrier.
For example, the USPS will not allow perfume to be shipped by air -- ground only.

I sold fragrances for years. They were always shipped Priority Mail and wrapped up well in bubble wrap leaving no extra room in the box for it to move around at all.
Not sure what your reasons are for not wanting to use Ebay for shipping, I always have and it works well for me. With todays prices I'd like use Ground advantage or PM depending on the order. I would not use UPS or Fedex because they cost so much more that USPS.

I remember one time years ago a buyer complained the stamps I sent smelled.
Buyer said it wasn't my fault because probably a bottle of perfume was broken with out going mail along somewhere along the way. I got lucky.
And now sellers have to be careful because buyers are / and / or can get mad how something is sent even if we sellers save them money for shipping.
I remember last month someone posted here about a seller using priority packaging to mail their item. Yes...it's illegal but everyone does it.
Thanks all for responses. Just want to do it correctly.

As it is flammable, you have to ship it ground, not air, per the USPS. Probably the same with any carrier idk. I used to only use the USPS when I sold mine.
I found this for you too:
"When shipping perfume bottles with the USPS, you need to take the time and care to prepare your shipments correctly to ensure they arrive in the hands of your customers in one piece. Perfume bottles are fragile and can be shattered in transit, if not packed carefully.
