In 20+ years on Ebay I've always mailed my packages time. I've NEVER been late once. Now, with the USPS casual attitude toward scanning I've gotten one "late shipping" and am about to get another; I mailed 3 same size packages together... 2 were scanned within 2 hours the other scanned 2 days later. I was shocked to get 3 sales... then they had to aggravate me! I guess I should be happy they scanned the two.
So... will changing my handling time from 1 to 2 days help? I'll still ship next day... but give the USPS an extra day to scan. Is there an Ebay "downside" to this? I've tried to figure out how to change the handling time but can't figure it out.... and I don't want to screw it up. I would appreciate any help.

If you use business policies you have to change the handling time on every policy.
If you don't use business policies, the fastest/easiest option is to pull all of your listings into the bulk editor and change them there.
If you don't use business policies and you're not comfortable with bulk edit you'll have to update listings one at a time.
If you want more specific help, we'll need to know which option you'll be using to make edits.

Do it with bulk edit - all you have to do is to check "edit all" of your listings (whatever that number is), then change your handling time. One day or two days - makes little or no difference, and a day of "cushion" gives a bit of peace of mind. It's what I do.

The only 'downside' is your Estimated Delivery times on your listings will now be a day later than they were with 1 day handling.
Do you drop off your packages in person, or have them picked up by carrier? I drop mine off in person and have them scan in every single one in front of me, then get a receipt with all the tracking numbers so I have physical proof they were scanned in on time.

For years, I had a 1 day handling time. Since January, I have changed my handling from 1 day to 2 days and then to 3 days.
My carrier is great and scans each package at pick up. For me, the issue was the backlog at the sorting hubs or not having any mail service for a day. In fact, my neighborhood was skipped again just this week.
