Hello all,
So i accept returns, 30 days, buyer pays.
Item sold to 0 fb account
Item shipped, delivered.
Within hours of delivering buyer wants to return with reason"changed my mind"
"I bought a different one so this one is no longer needed".
That's fine so i wait for the return , 2 days go by and no action on buyers part. Near the 3rd day i get an email from ebay stating buyer closed the return request,
Buyer had already been blocked
Now this morning (few days after closing return) i wake up to a message from the buyer :
Good Morning,
I apologize but I am going to need to return the item. I purchased it but it is no longer needed. Can you please issue as a return as mine is not working. Thank you!
I'm guessing. Buyer saw he had to pay return shipping.. also no fb has been left yet though i dont know buyers intentions if they dont get their return
Best way to proceed? Should i open dialogue with buyer? I have no problem taking the item back, it's a popular item. But at this point i want to be done with the buyer , his/her indecisiveness and closing the return only to still want to irritates me.
Thanks

As long as you have good fb one neg is not going to hurt you from a buyer's perspective, ebay does not apply it as of now but that could change. Since they closed the case on ebay, they can only open one in paypal. They will have to pay the shipping to have it returned to you thru paypal. Respond to the message and tell them your obligation was finished once they closed the case. Let them figure out how to open one in paypal. Should they open one in paypal, they may close that one too, since it is going to cost them to ship the item back to you.

The buyer closed the original return, I would be inclined to ignore them at this point. They may figure out that they can open a return on Paypal, but there they have to pay return shipping, no different from a remorse return.

you are off the hook now if you want to just ignore them, there are no ebay rules about responding to buyers messages, you can safely ignore them. When ebay takes action that is when not to ignore them, however you already did agree to a return and the buyer closed it.according to ebay you have done every thing expected of you.Trying to explain all this to a CSR can be exasperating and just prove futile. In the chess game called ebay, the next move is the buyers..not yours...............its basically game over for him
I do not usually mention feedback removal since returns for me are sort of easy now but I would think you should not have t worry about it

"I regret you are not happy with your purchase. Please return it for a full refund."
Rinse and repeat.
If he figures out how to use Paypal, they will require him to pay return shipping.
"I regret you are not happy with your purchase. Please return it for a full refund."
Chargebacks vary, but they do run through Paypal, so politely demanding the return before refunding should still work.
"I regret you are not happy with your purchase. Please return it for a full refund."

Since the buyer closed the return request, you will not get a refund of your final value fee if you accept the return. You will also lose the PayPal fee. You could let them know that you are unable to open a return case on eBay for this item.

In cases like this you can call CS to get the fees refunded. They just have to be able to see you sent the buyer a refund. I have had to do it in the past.

It sounds as though your buyer doesn't know their way around e bay very well yet . This is why I think it's unlikely they will attempt to go through Pay Pal for a refund if this first try doesn't work in their favor . Either way they will need to pay the return shipping . I think you're done needing to tend to this transaction . Tulips
