Hello everyone, I have an item for sale which I saw( similar item) sold on invaluable.com for more than $400 . I would really appreciate if anyone help me in identifying the item like who made it or what it is made of and also why it is so expensive. I am attaching some pictures . Thanks and appreciated.

Can't help with your item, but it's better to ask questions before listing.

Looks like a decorated coconut. There are thousands of them for sale on eBay especially from Sri Lanka. $400? Who ever has that listing on the site you mentioned for $400, they are asking WAY too much.
Good luck!

Take your item to the Art and Collectibles board.

It Is Not A Coconut!, It looks like the lizards are pewter, I think you really need to investigate more before listing, Sorry I couldn't help more, but not a coconut!

Sorry to burst your bubble but it is indeed a coconut.

If it's the same item, presumable because the rim, base & lizards are silver, not pewter.
Most likely sold for the silver rather than any intrinsic "value" otherwise.

I'll take your advice, but it sure looks like a coconut shell. I grew up in the land of coconuts. PS Never park your car under a coconut tree. lol
Have a great day and Happy Selling!

I bet that's one you learn the hard way? = )
Best not to park under ANY 'fruit" tree I've found. Even crab apples can leave a dent.

It's the buyer that decided that something similar was worth over $400 to own it
So, do you feel lucky today ?
