Help! Not able to add the tracking number.

Hello,

The same buyer made 2 orders. I've shipped both of them in 1 package. Now I want to send the refund for the combined shipping and add the same tracking number to the both orders. I've added the tracking number to the first order, but I'm not able to add it to the second one! It says: "Tracking number added is already used for a different buyer.". But these are orders from the same buyer!

The orders are already shipped and I'm not able to change anything. Please, help me.

You need to add an "alias" tracking number for the second order, even though they're in the same package.

If the tracking number is 9876, and the last 5 digits of the second item number is 12345

-- build the alias like this 420 12345 9876 without any spaces,

-- then check the alias at the USPS.com website,

-- before pasting it in at the eBay page.

@madeinukrainestore1   you can click 'mark as shipped' on the drop down menu next to the sold item, you can also click on the 'edit' button to add tracking numbers to the item

You are hitting this road block because the buyer used 2 different IDs for their purchase. Were they guest accounts - a similar but different jumble of letters and numbers? Next time a buyer wants combined shipping, tell them to add items to their cart and make one single payment.

The Seller who posted this thread lives in the Ukraine. What is an Alias tracking number? If both items were shipped in one package, all the OP needs to do is mark it shipped on the right hand side of the page where it states sold.  Then they can add the tracking no.

Did you know that when you print shipping labels, there is an option to combine orders and print out 1 shipping label for 2 or more orders.  When you do that it automatically assigns the (same) tracking number to each order.

Because the seller is located in Ukraine they cannot use the combined shipping process through eBay labels since they can't buy postage through eBay labels. They can't use alias tracking because they're not shipping USPS.

Unless they want to put the buyer through the inconvenience of cancelling and re-purchasing, OP will have to mark the second order as shipped and leave it without tracking.

The buyer used 2 different accounts (a guest account and a personal account). My fault, I haven't checked the usernames.

So, one of the orders will remain without a tracking number then... I'm really worried about my seller rate 'cause I'm struggling to save our business here in Ukraine. It's a crazy adventure to stay Top Rated in the current conditions. 😓

So glad to see you are one of the few that are still selling. Many people from the Ukraine still cannot sell on Ebay.  I know it's frustrating.  Please take care and stay safe.

Above Standard is still a good rating for an eBay seller @madeinukrainestore1. Even if you slip down eBay generally extends a grace period and extends TRS to give you some time to get your sales numbers up. If you lose TRS you can always earn it back. Just keep moving forward. Good luck!

If TRS is truly important to you, you can ship the second item in a separate package. You might lose a few dollars on the combined shipping refund you sent, but if TRS is important that may be a small price to pay to avoid the tracking hit. Up to you.
