My name is Jess with the business Like New Knives. We sell here on Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, E-crater, & Google Shopping. We have been selling here on Ebay for several years now and everything typically goes pretty smoothly. However earlier today we received this message to our inbox stating that three of our listings had been removed for violating Ebay's knife policy.I believe the issue may be that some our listings were set up to sell internationally. I thought that this was okay as long as we were not selling in the United Kingdom and other countries that are restrictive on importing collectable pocket knives. I went through and checked each country's policy individually to try and make sure we weren't doing anything illegal but I do realize that doesn't mean its allowed on Ebay. I thought I had a good understanding of what was allowed and what wasn't but obviously I was mistaken and I sincerely apologize for that if that is what the issue is truly. I know that none of our listings violate Ebay's knife policy in any other way because they are not the type of knives that are listed as prohibited. Also there are literally hundreds if not thousands of other sellers selling the exact same knives here on Ebay. The email that Ebay sent is kind of confusing to me about what is going to happen to my account right now. I thought it was stating that if any more of our listings got removed by Ebay that then we would have a 3 day selling suspension but then I tried to go edit all of our listings and change our shipping policy and this message is what it showed when I tried to do that:
"It appears you’re listing a knife item that can be used as a weapon. You’re no longer allowed to sell these items on eBay due to previous violations of the Knives policy. Do not attempt to relist this item. If you try to sell these again your selling privileges may be restricted and you may also be subject to legal action. You won’t be able to appeal this block, even if the item you are listing follows the policy or is not related to this issue.{e66674-1074516x}"
Its kind of a scary message and makes it seem like Im already completely blocked from selling or something. I was about to call customer service but then I went through the community forum and noticed alot of people in similiar situations stating not call because it only made their situation worse. Could you please give me some insight into the reason for the takedown of these listings? Am I correct in assuming its the international shipping? Or is it something else I am not aware of. I have included a copy of the email below and then below that there is some links to the searches I performed to show how many of the same model pocket knives are for sale here on Ebay. I hope to hear back from you soon as this is making me quite anxious, this is how I make my living and how I support my family and I.
