I've had caption on my TV for 15-20 years, I can hear talking but depends on the person tone as to if I can understand what they are saying.
So when I call Ebay CS I always get ebay Asian CS. I always apologies to them that I can not understand half of what they are saying. Therefore we can not solve any problem I have.
When I ask to be transferred to USA CS they say they can not do that. So I have to hang up and try again until I get someone I can understand, which may take 3-4-5-etc tries.
This is ridiculous, ebay is not the only company who does this. Its discrimination against the hearing impared.

I've never use the hearing impaired numbers. I do not know how it works but it sounds like its a 3 way call with a person interpreting or in the middle of the conversation between me and a Asian ebay CS.
I do not want someone knowing any ebay business of mine. ANd in order to use it looks like they would hear the whole conversation between me and Ebay.

I don't feel that it's discrimination. If the op was totally deaf and could not hear (communicate) with them, then maybe. It's not that she can't hear them. It's that she can't understand them. I do blame ebay though. They should hire people who speak better English regardless of where they are from.
A) Hire good English speakers (cost more)
B) Hire poor English speakers (cost less)

Use a relay service. Then, they'll be required to respond to you in text or be liable for violation of the ADA.
