I've been researching ways to increase my monthly listings. Currently I have a Starter store with 250 free listings and I could easily list more than that. I've looked into bumping it up to a Basic store to get 100 more but the $20 increase a month makes me hesitant.
Another option I've looked into is just opening another account. I know that it will take time to build up my feedback a bit before I can really sell though. And the thought of having to switch back and forth between accounts and not really getting an overall picture of my sales through Ebay also makes me hesitant.
I could easily separate my products and keep one account exclusively for toys and parts and such and the other for misc so that's not a problem. I just wonder logistically if it's worth the hassle. Thoughts?

Yes Store fvf rates apply to listings started after you subscribe or GTC rollovers when they happen after you subscribe.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm only responding because it came up in my search for "multiple accounts used to manipulate market pricing". I searched this because, well, an item I am shopping for is clearly being marketed by one team through at least 6 different accounts, and all of their pricing is close if not identical, with a few a little higher. I believe their effort is to give the impression that the "market" is driving this price ask, when in fact it's nothing more than market manipulation by one dude (or team of dudes).
It's easy to tell. The items are unique, boxed and photographed exactly the same, and in some cases, ARE the same items. Also, their ship-from location is the same city in California, or one city over (Los Angeles area has a lot of different cities that run together).
Not sure why this is even allowed...oh wait, ebay sees it as a chance to get more fees, so that explains it...

Those 6 accounts could also be competitors, using the same drop-shipper.
