Help! How do I stop a pretend buyer from continuous harassment?
I bought something from a seller, which turned out to be not as described (I provided all the proof, the item they sent me was not what was listed) so I requested a return.
This seller became abusive and threatened to take revenge. I screenshot and saved the messages and reported seller. Since then, this seller has trolled my listings and pretended to buy just so they could give me a terrible review filled with profanity. I had 100% positive review prior to this and in all 20+ years on ebay (as a buyer) this has been my first return ever.
When i got the notification that one of my items sold today, i immediately noticed the username and canceled their order, but they obviously are still able to leave a review even if the order was canceled.
So today I had two items sell and I'm so paranoid by this person that I canceled both orders because both items were items the seller threatened me with.
I've reported this person, both as a seller and as a buyer. I've called Ebay to let them know that this person had threatened to do this when I requested a refund for my purchase.
I actually called Ebay before canceling their pretend "buy" because I knew this was their goal. I've blocked this person, I've requested the negative feedback be reviewed. Ebay says they're deleting the feedback but their rating stays.
WHY?? When it is so blatantly a revenge fake buy??? And how do I check if this person is not pretend buying using different names just so they can keep giving me negative feedback?

How are you "calling" Ebay? Ebay no longer allows us to call them, they call us, but the traditional Call Center hasn't existed since the Pandemic.
These are all your options to contact Ebay, I really suggest you try the Facebook link.
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://www.facebook.com/ebay
https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

You've just got to laugh, that sad human must have nothing else better to do haha.
Here's what I found:
To block a buyer from purchasing your eBay items, you can use eBay's blocking tools to add their username to the Blocked Buyer List.
If someone buys one of your items with a different name tag just take a look at their profile and see if it was created recently and cancel if you think it might be that same pritt stick.

What I mean by pretend buy is that this person had already previously told me they were going to get me back with a negative review by buying my "cheap garbage" so when they purchased my item, I knew it wasn't going to end well. They bought a $5 item just so they could retaliate. This, I call a pretend buy...not an honest buyer who's interested in the item...

I learned here that it's a good idea for sellers to have two accounts here -- one for buying and one for selling.

I've been thinking exactly that all night. Sigh...

It is likely a mistake by Ebay not to remove the red donut on your feedback page. You likely need to contact them again and get them to remove it.
Put the seller/buyer on your Block Bidder List right away.
I don't blame you for being concerned. The bully is getting exactly what they wanted, to make you feel the way you currently do. I'm so sorry this is happening to you.
I don't know if this will help, but look around in the Security policy. If you contact Ebay again, you might even ask for someone in Security.

Add Immediate Payment Required to all your Fixed Price Listings.
If you do Auctions, add the AutoPay feature at least until you are confident the numbskull is gone.
(AutoPay annoys potential bidders and reduces the number of bids so don't use it unless necessary.)

This is an interesting idea.

Guess we a ll have different views on various experiences doing business on eBay. But I sold & buy on the same eBay account - never had any issue shipped 1665 items 9s0ld from 2010 thru 2021** . As a seller I received 64% FB on my sales all positive but one.. Most items were Used/Preowned clothing/foot wear, some cameras, fishing reels etc. had less than five returns (buyers remorse). All fixed price with separate shipping/handling
** to provide no charge day care for this guy- taught him how to shake his booty at our grand daughters and play pool, roll dice, listen to Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong and fish ( both those boys started at 3 fishing - I was the photographer.

It is a good idea especially if you call out a bad seller with feedback.
@lilianalovevintage It may behoove you to contact the Facebook/eBay customer service page to show them the threats in the messages and to see if they can remove the negative from your account.
-Good luck

Is there a reason you have not added the individual to your BBL?

@dbfolks166mt
I have added them to my blocked list.
