I got an email from Ebay congratulating me on my 25-Year anniversary. Know what they gave me? That is right, nothing. Not even a coupon. That was impressive.

This is my 27th year and I've never received any kind of anniversary acknowledgement from eBay. I think the site may be managed entirely by bots these days, including the CEO.

We're about the same age here.
Well IDK about that. Maybe on Ebay, but as a human I just had a birthday today. And I feel it !!!!

Don't feel bad - had my 80th Birthday on Dec 26, 2024.. Been a eBay member since Nov. 2008. Got nothing - not even a no cost HB e-mail. No Big Deal. The only thing I ever wanted for my B'day was 1 homemade banana creme pie (no candles) made by Mom and ate the whole thing in front of anyone - no sharing. Happy to have those memories.
But check out this post

That Power, Top Rated Seller Certificate was similar to those Student of the Month bumper sticker or a Participation Trophy for all those that went out for a sport - everyone gets one. Received a couple certificates sometime in 2010, 1 by mail, 1 via down load and print sold first item a January 2010 - Whoopee - like the cushion.

In July, I celebrate my 29th EBay anniversary. I don’t expect anything from them. They do not care about the veterans that got them started and helped make them what they are.

One time I specifically started a new account because of a stalker creating new accounts every day and sniping all my auctions every day. That person also figured out the new account based on location and what I was selling and started doing the same on that one. That was two accounts abandoned because of one person. The rest was because I lost access to the associated email addresses. The two I have currently are both active and pursue radically different business models and I want them separate for both management reasons and to see their profit separately.

eBay gives you money.
Would you rather have a pat on the back? 😃
Ebay doesn't "give" us money. Sellers EARN their money and Ebay processes it. That is a BIG difference.

My post was just a shorter way of saying eBay provides the platform that allows sellers to reach buyers who send them money in exchange for their goods and labor. More words, same meaning.

Seems to me that Ebay "gives you money" is a very different thing than "sellers Earn their money and Ebay processes it".
But I understand what you are saying.

If you want to be literal, eBay does send me money. They did it this morning, according to the e-mail from eBay that said: "We sent your payout."
A good number of your posts are contrary. Are you sure this mentor business is for you?
