Handling time not stated on listings

I just got a cancellation request. Buyer was mad the item hadn't shipped yet (purchased Friday), I have a 2 day handling time. We went round and round, he sent me screen shots indicating my handling time is not stated on the listing, only eBay's Guaranteed delivery date (not mine). Why not state the handling time on the listing? So ebay can give false promises of shipping dates then punish me when it doesn't come to fruition?

Re: Handling time not stated on listings

The only time that handling times are shown is when they are extended - five days or longer. Otherwise the handling time is supposed to be reflected in the estimated delivery date...we all know how well that works out. 🙄

Ebay really, really needs to show all handling times, not just extended ones.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Wow, thank you. I did not know that! Agree- really misleading for buyers.

Re: Handling time not stated on listings

You HAVE to put a handling time when you do a listing but then ebay decides NOT to show it.

How ebay is that?

Re: Handling time not stated on listings

I clicked on the SHIPPING & PAYMENT tab for one of your current listings, and saw this:

Estimated delivery dates- opens in a new window or tab include seller's handling time, origin ZIP Code, destination ZIP Code and time of acceptance and will depend on shipping service selected and receipt of cleared payment- opens in a new window or tab. Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods.

Did you point this out to the buyer?  The important date is the last estimated delivery date, but ebay cautions that delivery times may vary (especially during this pandemic).

four days or more is when it kicks in to show the handling time.

Re: Handling time not stated on listings

& if a buyer is on a mobile device, ebay requires a extra tap for them to see the handling time of 4 days or more.  Only when a listing is viewed by PC is the handling time front & center & easily seen on listings with 4 or more days of handling time. Double checked on my smart phone and tablet and noticed I had to go a extra step in the shipping section to view handling times of 4 days or more in my own listings.
