To start, the reason I feel that eBay's current war on hand sanitizer is wrong is because they are taking away people's ability to get the products that they desperately need. With most sources dried up, eBay was was the last hope for a lot of people.
And before you all go regurgitating eBay's righteous efforts to thwart price gougers, they could have simply set up a process for people to report price gouging. THAT would keep the vast majority of sellers in check.
I was selling a lot of scented Hand Sanitizers in the 1 ounce Pocketbac style. I actually DROPPED my prices when this all happened so that people could get what they needed. But i do understand if some sellers wanted a small price increase as the laws of supply and demand take effect.
Now I am ok with all my sanitizer listings being removed. I have many other listings to help compensate, and I have been loyal to the eBay community for more than 20 years. I am simply trying to suggest that there may have been an alternate course of action that could have been taken.
Lastly, I am sure that when this is all over, eBay will remove the ban on those categories.
Until then, everyone stay healthy. And like a meme I saw on Facebook...constantly wash your hands as if you just handled chilipeppers and need to put your contacts in. Lol

@magbenv0 wrote:My favorite hand sanitizer alternative that I've found so far--- Natural Antibacterial Oregano Bar Soap(about $10tho). Also good for fungus(?). Don't know if anyone on eBay sells it,was searching for natural products elsewhere. Anyone ever tried it?
As long as you are aware that antibacterial and antiviral are NOT the same thing. A virus and a bacteria are two completely different things, requiring different methods of eradication.

I've already had hand sanitizer in my bathroom. If you are going to make your own, be sure the rubbing alcohol is at least 70%. That will kill the corona virus. Vodka works as well.

Yah,am well aware&thanks, good point,am sure there are people who don't know there is a difference. Oregano oil supposedly has some anti-viral properties to it also, they call it the "new tea tree oil". I did purchase a couple bars, but not here, prices were a tad much. I'm all for natural products&anything with alcohol kills my skin. We'll give it a go(&probably smell like pizza).❇️

I saw the "don't wash your hands with vodka".
Really, no matter what happens, I am not rubbing myself with vodka.
When did they come out with hand sanitizer any way?
I always thought it was a gimmick. Everyone knows that washing your hands is better, cheaper & doesn't leave massive numbers of plastic bottles to float in the ocean.
I am thinking of taking the opposite action.
I think I'm going to go out and randomly begin licking things. Doorknobs, grocery carts, people I don't know. Especially credit card machines. Maybe even wild animals if I can catch any.
Im building up my immunity.
Not going to wimp out with hand sanitizer & rubbing myself with vodka. 😄😄😄

Vodka is only 80 proof, 40%- so not enough. Guess just best to drink the Vodka and head the local store...
As I went to local grocery in Orange County CA (suburb city of Los Angeles) yesterday and they had 10+ pallets of water out front, as well as isles full of Lysol wipes, TP, hand soap (dial, dove, zest) was all plentiful. Was 1st store we went to, in an area of $1M homes and very high 'Asian' population. Not 1 person inside had a mask on.
I think the stories of 'hoarding' are way over-exaggerated. The only 'hoarding' I saw was the bakery areas 'frosted nut sprinkled Brownies' were almost empty for the day.

Excellent‼️🤗
And this is why I like my three feet of personal space(now more like 12 feet). As for those plastic bottles-recycle,recycle,recycle-then they don't just float around anymore.

Thank you!!!
There are times I do really enjoy the sharing of thoughts on the boards.
Sometimes I think I get a better view of the real world here than on the news.

And read the labels. "Kills 99.99% of most germs". Guess what happens to the .01% it doesn't kill?
Yep they just get stronger and more resistant.

It's the "recycling" that's the problem. We sell our trash to China to be 'recycled" and then they just dump it in the oceans.
Well before they started refusing to take it anymore. 2018 I think.

Didn’t they say alcoholic drinks don’t have enough alcoholic % to kill germs?
Lucky ND which is a few miles from me still sells Everclear, that is 180 proof or 90% alcohol...
I will never EVER forget a friend's wedding where the punch was made from Everclear and OJ.
