Why will Ebay not let me list Hand Sanitizer at a reasonable price when this is available anywhere you go shopping, ANYWHERE YOU SHOP THERE IS ANBUNDANCE OF IT ON THE STORE SHELFS, THEY EVEN ADVERTISE TO BUY IT FROM T.V. COMMERICALS ON T.V.? DON'T UNDERSTAND???

eBay's policy, which was set up last March, just hasn't caught up with market conditions.

It was banned except for prior sellers due to price gouging rules and laws.
Still is, I see by your post..
Do not attempt to relist it: you could be banned from eBay for doing such.

Best to sell regular unique items instead of the latest fad gimmick.

I suspect it is because during the initial outbreak of COVID, eBay got a lot of negative publicity due the behavior of its sellers.
And when a seller does something unpopular on eBay, it is generally "eBay" that gets mentioned in the story, and not the actual seller.
And with the USA setting three new records for the number of COVID cases this week, I would not expect that policy to change anytime soon.

@veg1100 People are starting to get afraid of a round two of Covid and have started panic-buying TP and other items again here in Tucson AZ.
So I am glad that ebay is not letting people sell these items. They need to be left on the store shelves where people can buy them at regular prices.

ANYWHERE YOU SHOP THERE IS ANBUNDANCE OF IT ON THE STORE SHELFS,
Which is a good reason not to bother selling it online.

Why fret it if the item is readily available in stores now?

@veg1100 This has been an ongoing topic since earlier this year when Covid-19 arrived from ... outside the US. You have to understand that in business AND during a National Emergency the opportunity exists to provide wanted or needed products for eBay members. There would have been nothing wrong with eBay allowing the items they banned to be sold AND tying a price structure down for those items based on prices found in stores ... in other words, set max prices that those items could be sold for on the site instead of taking them down from alleged, and in certain cases, price gouging. eBay is a California company AND the state has its own "anti-price gouging" law.
"California's anti-price gouging statute, Penal Code Section 396, prohibits raising the price of many consumer goods and services by more than 10% after an emergency has been declared."
And there you have it ... eBay lost huge opportunities for its Sellers to be able to sell items for reasonable prices the entire year since Covid-19. It would have been a win-win-win ... Consumers win because they can have items delivered to their front door inimizing exposure to the virus, Sellers win because they can sell wanted ot needed items instead of NOT being able to sell them and finally, eBay wins because they get their Selling Fees and help meet the needs of consumers' safety concerns.
It just business, just a business decision and eBay made a bad one ... of course all of this is just my humble opinion ...
