HTTP not allowed

As a seller, I like to put a links to YouTube to show my high dollar amount items such as forklift,  electric pallet jacks etc WORK GOOD. People love to see these items IN ACTION, operational. Now that HTTP is not allowed, how and where can I demonstrate that the $5000 item the potential buyer is paying for actually works? Same goes for when I buy something, I see the video of item working and it makes me more comfortable hitting that "buy it now" button. I think this was a very bad move. Any ideas?

Re: HTTP not allowed

I'm pretty sure most people that would buy a forklift knows how they work.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

Re: HTTP not allowed

It's not about know how they work, it's about HOW WELL they work.

Seeing the speed of the rack moving up and down, hearing smoothness (or lack thereof) of the engine, listening for hydraulics bypassing and whining, seeing it NOT leaving a trail of hydraulic fluid on the ground, etc.

Perfectly valid use of video for a complicated, higher dollar item.

CHRIS

Please read and understand the post before you reply to it . . .

I am not saying my video show "how to drive/operate a forklift".  My video shows that the $5000 - $8000 forklift you are about to buy ACTUALLY WORKS BECAUSE YOU ARE SEEING THE VIDEO OF IT WORKING Vs. a listing with just a picture that "sells as is as pictured" . Video is a great tool for BOTH seller and buyer.  I understand Ebay is causious aboyt external links and all, I get that. But they (Ebay) should come up with an "inhouse" type of hosting for videos (just like we upload our pictures into Ebay). Again, it's a great tool for both sellers and buyers.

eBay will allow YouTube Video links in the listing, as long as the code is correctly formatted. You can use the converter here to get the best code:

However, there has been an ongoing issue with eBay's Mobile Apps where YouTube videos just aren't displaying at all. At some point we presume eBay will fix that, but in the meantime, there is no direct YouTube workaround in the Apps. Even a simple link in the listing will fail because the App blocks the YouTube scripts that determine device capability.

Hopefully no one is buying a 5K forklift just from the ebay app ...................
