I have tried tirelessly to figure out HOW item descriptions get changed to an entirely different item?

This is beyond frustrating! AND further more is it IMO pure negligence on the part of EBAY!

Does any other seller experience this? Can any "techie" help us to what triggers this IF it is indeed a "gliche" as I am being told by customer service....because I am beginning to believe it is just "fun and games" to Ebay but it is NOT to me!

Sorry I can say I have had many many glitches & strange things happen to me here, but never this one.
You mean you have a listing up & the description gets changed after the item is live & up for sale?

YES! This started for me when Ebay sold VENDIO (which I used as it put a scrollbar across each of your listing to show at a glance other item)....and I was advised back then by customer service to go into each and every listing and remove the vendio script from the html code on the individual listing. That was done long ago YET I still continue to find listing description that become that of a completely different item listed! It has been a VERY LONG time for this "gliche" to have been worked out....but still today I have to end listings because they are of another item!

WOW never heard of that one! Did you post this on the Tech Board? That might help and you could also see if others are experiencing it.

That sounds like one extremely gnarly glitch.

Is this before confirming a listing or after it's already been listed? If the former... at least it's catching it before hand, if the latter.......That's... yeah, that's something that is terrifying.

I don't know exactly when "the change" takes place ....I have been alerted by some "buyers" that my listing doesn't match my title or photos so that is how I am made aware. Today I was reviewing some of my items that are about to expire that have watchers and found that I have a pearl pendant that had the description of my Jesus Christ bracelet???

I have tried to determine if it is a RELIST or SELL SIMILIAR ISSUE but have not been able to pinpoint because it happens so "off the cuff". I do not use any third party or Turbo lister so it is an EBAY issue.

Well here we go again...I just typed an entire reply and it would not post it!!!!

I have been unable to detect exactly when it happens...RELIST or SELL SIMILIAR? I have early on when ebay saved "completed listings" much longer than they do now been able to show CS the prior listing and the listing that I had to end because the listing description was that of another active listing.

Sometimes I am alerted by the persepective buyer with an email to me that the item description is not that of the title nor photo. Today I just happened to be reviewing listings that had watchers and saw that a pearl pendant was that of a gold bracelet?

I use Ebay listing tool no third party...no turbo lister.

I am still having to ask myself this question......

How does a vase get the description of a piece of jewelry? To include item descriptions?

Am I the only seller out there that this happens to............?

Try to avoid the relist or sell similar options if possible.
I've had plenty of these hiccups through the years, but it just makes me more diligent to proofread the new listing after I submit it.

Your original listings have code that does not belong and you will continue to have the same problems until you decide to list from the beginning. Stop using sell similar and relist until each of your listings are new without the old code.

I have experienced this using the sell similar. I can't tell you how I've made it happen but I think some how it I may have entered twice or something but I end up with a mismatch on the item.
