HOW TO COUNTERACT - OR CHANGE - BIN "IMMEDIATE PAYMENT" POLICY

I sell theatre memorabilia, and my hottest items are very old playbills. Buyers often want to purchase several at a time and await my invoice in order to receive a discount on shipping. With the new policy, this is impossible. All I can hope for is that they pay the shipping fee as each is ordered and trust that I will refund the excess, which, of course, I will.

Is this just brainlessness on the part of ebay, a ploy to buoy receipts (no matter how short-term), OR IS IT ANOTHER TACTIC TO ELIMINATE SMALL SELLERS? Whatever, it is capable of wrecking my business.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHOM TO CONTACT TO PROTEST THIS ABOMINATION? Many thanks to all.

It has NOTHING to do with "small sellers" (whatever that means), the forced IPR is happening to ALL sellers big & small.

The one surefire way to eliminate it is to add another payment method, specifically your own merchant account for processing credit card payments.

For a time it seemed like adding Local Pick-Up would do it but that doesn't seem to work.

As far as who to complain to......probably a waste of time but everytime you see a "tell us what you think" button..............

I think the problem we all face is that there has been 20 years of sellers whining about non-payers and demanding eBay "do something about it". Remember the old axiom "careful what you wish for"!

Interesting today, I had one buyer who was unable to request a total for multiple items they put in the cart (otherwise they were forced to pay for each item seperately) and I had one that was able to add to the cart AND request a total request a total. To add confusion, on Sunday a buyer wasn't even shown the Cart button and was forced to buy and pay for 4 items individually. The later happens to me frequently and means excess fvf's on shipping PLUS multiple 30 cent transaction fees from PayPal, that one really burns me!

The cart has issues. And yes, Ebay has said the IPR was added because sellers were opening too many cases.

Well, I have been lucky that collectors in my category seem to have integrity. I have always been paid (though, in the old days, not always promptly) and I haven't had returns that I can recall. I've been selling here for over sixteen years. I'll hang in for awhile, but I am tired of being dictated to by managers of a selling platform; when the store subscription expires, I'll head to greener pastures (barring a miracle).
