The easiest way to add sound or video to your listing is to create a video with your camera or smartphone.

eBay will not host videos at the top of the listing, so you can't upload to eBay.
Instead, you can upload your videos to YouTube.  YouTube does not directly support Audio only, so that is why you need to make a video of the vinyl going round-and-round. Be sure the clip is short enough that you are not violating any copyrights.

  • Create a free YouTube account if you don't already have one.
  • Create a YouTube "channel" if you don't already have one.
  • Upload your video to YouTube.

YouTube will then give you a Share Link or Embed Code.

Paste that code into this Code Converter tool to make it compatible with eBay.
http://www.isdntek.com/tagbot/YouTubeConverter.htm

The video will not autoplay. It should sit there and wait for the user to start it.

Copy the code from the converter tool and paste it into the description that you write. eBay's Description editor has a RichText toolbar for editing text, but, instead, you must use the HTML tab or HTML link on the text editor and paste your code into the HTML view. Then, when you switch back to the RichText editor, you will see the placeholder for the video and you can use the popup preview to test it.

eBay will begin blocking this code mid 2017.  At that time, they hope to have some solution for seller videos, so keep in mind that you may eventually need to edit your listings to switch to the new solution. Keep your clip on hand in case you need to convert to MP4 and upload to a different hosting site.

Why would u want to do that My Dear? It will only slow down the pages of mobile users. I do not recommend u doing this unless u have a foolproof way. With the pace ebay has been at sales wise these past couple months, I wouldn't do anything to inhibit traffic. Plus, there's nothing more annoying than unsuspectingly going on to a page and getting blasted with music, scaring the bejeebus outta u. That's my opinion though.

Then there are the customers who are secretly shopping while at work.

Do you think they would like to suddenly start blasting Travis Scott when they check out your offerings?

The easiest way is to upload the audio to YouTube or Vimeo and embed it in the Description area using the code you can get here:

http://www.isdntek.com/tagbot/YouTubeConverter.htm

Depending on what the audio is you may have copyright issues, on YouTube check the YouTube Audio Library first.

Note: Sometime in the next 6 - 12 months active content like YouTube or other audio players will not be permitted.

And definitely no auto-play!

I don't mind audio links but LOATHE & detest autoplay.

The worst are the active commercial ads which autoplay (and that's on any site)

Hi  Any suggestions on how to lower my seller hub amounts of selling per month...I'm so high that I'm getting over looked since I was bumped out of my store with the nasty trademark word.   I need to eat...just sold two items but that doesn't allow me to buy MEAT...

HELP!

eBay is removing this option soon.

In my very early days on ebay, I was browsing at about 2:00 in the AM.

I was very new.  All of a sudden, a listing I clicked on started BLARING music at me!  I jumped and was frantic as I didn't want to wake anyone up!  Quickly figured out how to shut the thing off, but not quickly enough for me!

Definitely wasn't fun!

Post them to YouTube and them embed the YouTube video in your Description area.

You can use the code found here: YouTube Code Converter for eBay

Be aware, this code may have to be replaced when the Active Content rules come into effect. eBay has promised to release code specifically for YouTube at some point. Up until then you can use the old code.

Why did you resurrect an old thread about uploading music clips, then talk about buying meat?
