Hello, old time member but new seller here.
I am attempting to sell my backstock of high-end professional series in-ceiling indoor speakers for business or home use, such as an audio system in a retailer or a home entertainment theater. For some reason eBay keeps forcing the item into an "auto" category. It is definitely not auto. I don't even think this manufacturer makes products for auto. I have added in the UPC and the type as in-ceiling, as well as other specs on it and a thorough description. The category availability for professional series items is almost none, so I am attempting to list in "Consumer Electronics > TV, Video & Home Audio > Home Audio" but it keeps telling me "The category chosen is not valid for this auto related item. Please choose another category."
What do I do? How do I fix this? Is there some kind of appeal option?

Just guessing …so don’t shoot the messenger.
Could be something about the title, item specifics and or description that is sounding like an automobile accessory that AI is picking up on.

Remove the UPC and see if it will list.

Try looking at how other sellers are showing this product. Look at the titles specifically and see if there is a clue. Or you could try using sell similar on another listing.

Just a shot in the dark here, but could you be misspelling "audio" as "auto" in your title, item specifics or description?
Scan everything for possible misspellings.
I really dislike eBay's AI and its insistence on micromanaging things like the listing category that are better left to the seller's discretion.
Cheers, Duffy

Thank you for the suggestions. I did not have anything misspelled in the title or anything at all in the listing that implied Automotive. I also had the correct UPC included. I ended up just simply deleting the entire thing and redoing it. For some reason it worked just fine on a new listing. *eyeroll*
