Guaranteed delivery shipped on time but delivered late

The item was shipped on time but arrived 2 days late to buyer. I recieved negative feedback because of this. Is there any protection under gauranteed delivery for this situation?

 

I am on the handling time option.

Not that I'm trying to throw the seller under the bus here or anything, but why should the buyer's feedback be removed? 

 

The pat answer here has always been "it's the buyer's opinion" - even if the seller insists, or can prove, otherwise.  The buyer was told "3-days, Guaranteed".  If my listing guarantees the buyer something, and the buyer doesn't get it, no one is going to remove any negative feedback I get.  Why should things be any different in this case?  Because it's eBay's pet program, and eBay made the unkept promise? 

 

What does eBay tell the unsatisfied buyer when they remove the negative feedback?  Nothing?  "Too bad."?   eBay promised buyers they can leave an honest evaluation of their transaction.  eBay also promised the seller they'd protect them from negative feedback.  How does making promises eBay can't keep improve eBay's reputation or instill "trust" in the eBay marketplace?
