Global Shipping Program overrides listing handling time?

I just sold my first item through the Global Shipping Program and was surprised to get 2 emails from eBay confirming the sale.  The first one said to ship within my 3-day handling time.  The second one specifically mentioned the GSP and said I must ship within 1-day handling time (same or next).  I contacted eBay CSR and was told that 'yes' GSP sale overrides my 3-day handling time and I must ship same or next day.  

I do not remember seeing this anywhere on the ebay site and it doesn't make sense.  If I could always be sure to ship next day, then I would have changed my handling time for all listings.  I usually do ship same or next day but can't always guarantee it, so will now have to remove GSP from any listings that have it. 

Is anyone else familiar with this policy?  Is it written somewhere and I just missed it (CSR was not able to point me to this policy)?

I’d never heard of that and I don’t believe it’s the actual policy BUT....

Under “best practices when using the GSP” it says in order to attract more international buyers—“to specify same or 1 day handling” https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/global-shipping-program?id...

I believe that is just a recommendation though. That what eBay wants you to do but you aren’t required to do it.
