I was receiving and email from someone asking if I could send a gift card as a gift and later received and email asking me to give the Card information in order to receive the pending funds. It continued to say it was needed to verify the card’s balance in order for me to receive the pending funds and the email does look a little authentic but I’m not really sure if it’s a scam or not and the email is ebay.pay.verified@gmail.com

anyone who can't procure a gift card can't because they have no money.

any one asking you to verify a card is a scammer: any one asking you to add card to the sale is a scammer.
Anything usually concerning Gift cards is a scam.

If it "looks" authentic, then it's a scam. Block and move on.

Ask yourself, why would eBay use a gmail address.

Of course it's a scam (and although this is not the only proof of that, you should know that the Gmail address you posted is simply someone's throwaway creation on Gmail; it has nothing to do with eBay).
You only use gift cards to send a gift... to someone you know. Once the gift card (or the numbers on it) are sent, you can never get the funds back again. Real eBay sales do not involve adding gift cards to an outbound shipment.

eBay does not use a gmail address. You are dealing with a criminal. If you accepted an offer from this person, you can report it onsite "buyer taking the transaction off eBay" or some such. You will not get paid, you will just get a phony message saying you were.
If you were asked to "text" or "email" you have nothing more than the typical "text me" scammer that works the site 24/7 taking advantage of "newbie" sellers. Since you probably did text or email, they think they have a hot prospect on the line, and thus asked for the gift card "since this was a present for their son (daughter, grandmother) for their birthday (wedding, first communion)".
If you accepted the offer, on day 5 you can cancel the sale because the buyer didn't pay. Then you can relist.
If they are just messaging you, ignore, block, and move on.

NEVER ANSWER EMAILS ASKING YOU TO PAY WITH GIFT CARDS, ITS A SCAM!
anyone who ever asks you to pay with gift card is a scam artist. this is illegal! its against ebay policy, & not one of ebays safe forms of payment. NEVER give anyone your personal information, address, billing info, card issuer name if asked, location, or ANY identification of any sort over a random email. please report this email fo phishing in your personal email, & then block them. if it ties back to a seller on ebay, report them via this link for trying to sell you something off of ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicId=4850
then also report their listing if such applies.
you may also chat with ebay CS during business hours via this method:
help & contact} scroll to the bottom for contact us} buying} how buying works} chat with us, or email us after hours but i never suggest that.. i just wait till like 7.
also, just to add this in, you cannot speak to customer service outside of this website or app what so ever,NEVER GOOGLE ebay customer service number, they are ALL A SCAM. ebay can only call you if you request it via contacting CS the way i just showed you through the site & your ebay account, so never believe ANYONE calling you or emailing you, pretending to be from ebay when you have not previously requested it, it is also instant so theyre not going to decide to call you back 2 days later.
there is no gmail for ebay. gmail ebay emails are all a scam!! as a techy i will tell you ebay has their own servers! & it looks like "no.reply@ebay.com" if its a member, it will be their member id then end with "@members.ebay.com"
spam emails are often misspelled, bc most of them are stationed in or around india sadly, & just pay attention. use your noodle, youreok as long as you haven't given them any info yet????

to elaborate further, "if you have not previously requested it." meaning through your account & requested a call back, or an email after hours. ebay will sometimes notify you of things but it has thatdomain name only no.reply@ebay.com.
just check the spelling, & never believe gmail addresses or any other domain name other than @ebay.com the USA address is no.reply@ebay.com for ebay account notifications, & @members.ebay.com. no acceptions, & dont even reply to members trying to contact you personally via your email.
it is best to ALWAYS take it right back into ebay into the safe ebay messaging system, & quote their text, then reply only there! its my own safety measure to prevent fraud, & to keep everyone honest no acceptions, & dont even reply to members trying to contact you personally via your email, it is best to ALWAYS take it right back into ebay into the safe ebay messaging system, & quote their text, then reply only there! its my own safety measure to prevent fraud, & to keep everyone honest.

Tagging on...TOTAL SCAM!

If any of these things happen, it's a scam:
1. Buyer asks for your email address or Paypal address
2. Buyer sends you a phone number to text/call him/her
3. Buyer asks you to buy gift cards to go with the order
4. Buyer asks you to send the item to a different address after paying
5. Buyer wants you to send the item overnight/express and will pay you a lot extra to do this
6. Buyers says that they cannot pay through the eBay website and sends you a link to click on so that the payment will go through
7. Buyer offers more for your item than the price you have it listed for
