Hoping someone can help me here, I sold an older Lenovo laptop on eBay and bought a new charger for it and everything. 2 people were winning the bid with very high reviews and of course at the very last second someone came in and won it who had a much lower score than the other two.
First thing he does is message me saying there better not be any "white spots" on the screen. Not sure if he was making a perverted joke or talking about dead pixels but I told him no the screen was fine just dusty.
I sent it off and sure enough a few days went past and now he is messaging me again saying I sent the laptop without a charger and the battery is bad. I included the charger but I didn't take a pic of it in the box when I mailed it out but I know for a fact I included it since I don't stock Lenovo products ever and I don't have the charger anywhere in my work area. 2nd I included a screen shot of the computer's self test showing the battery was fine and a screen shot from Windows showing the battery could hold a charge for 2 hours.
How should I proceed with this?

@jkle_cougar Just say return for refund. If they do not file a refund request then you do not have to do ANYTHING.
As the others have said once a return request is opened then you approve the return. The only return shipping you will have to pay for is from Delaware to you. Since the buyer can't return the item from their country without paying return shipping you are off the hook.
Except for the rare scam that we have been seeing lately where they buy something on another site and then have the item shipped to you and use that tracking to prove delivery you should be fine on this one.

I would tell him to open a case for a return. Ebay then sends his label. If he can't return it, that's on him. I don't know why eBay would let him get around that.
If anyone, ever, sends you a message like that, cancel it,then send the second offer to the next bidder. I think I'm correct in saying that.

His cost of sending it back to Delaware is his problem. My guess is this person is in China. Simply tell him file a case with eBay for a refund. You will have to bear the cost of the return shipping from Delaware, where you shipped it to, to your location. He is on the hook to get it to Delaware. My guess is you are being scammed. Once he figures out his cost to ship it back to Delaware, which he obviously already knows, I am sure this will all go away.

eBay needs to stop the so called "re-shipper" service. How they can do it, I don't know, but I'm sure they have the technology to do so. Just like cleaning up sellers & buyers who are operating multiple accounts on eBay.
I don't do any international shipping due to all the scams & posts I have read, but this situation is a little different.
Let the buyer open a case! eBay will review all e-mail communication and see the buyer is trying to cheat you.
All I can say is you post all necessary photos and information in listings, don't allow international shipping (though this was re-shipper / 2nd party shipper), and state "ask questions before buying or bidding.
best wishes!

Just so you'll know, you can say that all day long, but Ebay will not back you on it.
When you ship to a reshipper, you're not shipping internationally, your shipping domestically.
You can be scammed just as easily by a domestic buyer as you can by one using a reshipper.

It doesn't matter what you do I had a buyer that purchased a hard to find model cb base station that was sold as parts only but I did put in the description that I powered it on but did not have a mic or antenna and coax cable to hook up and properly test so I was selling as parts only then buyer opens a item not as described and states item does not work posted Photos of it disassembled in the return request I did not accept it and ebay steps in and decided in the buyers favor to accept the return gave the buyer a refund I appealed the case with them and I filed the appeal and it litterly took about 30 seconds from the time I filed until I got the reply saying that ebay made the right decision and my appel was denied and ebay also told buyer to ship the item back to me and they had to cover shipping cost and buyer will not respond now and eBay's advise was I should have accepted the return it fell under the money back guarantee so does anyone else know when eBay's mbg policy included items sold as parts only had to work and function properly so now I'm out the item cost, the item, selling fees, and the $130.00 dollars it sold for

eBay users are allowed multiple accounts for buying and selling as long as you use your real identity and address and bank info and not any alias or different banking info and stuff like that because I checked into myself I use multiple accounts for selling and everyone kept telling me I couldn't do it so I contacted eBay about it and that is what they told me but on another note look at how much ebay lies to sellers about stuff

I would ask the buyer to open a return case through ebay and go from there. Sometimes if they are attempting to scam you the will not open the case. If you shipped it to Delaware then the return label would be sent with that address on it.

This is 100% right on. I've had 2 or 3 issues with buyers this year. When I told them they had to open a case, They went away, never to be heard from again.
The everyday scammers are usually smart enough to stay below ebay's radar.
