Getting harassing messages claiming my item is fake

I had a listing for an eyeshadow palette (Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario) that I recently took down as I decided that I need to take better pics. But I have been getting messages from an eBay member insisting that my palette is fake. (I know it isn't. I bought it at Sephora and took numerous pictures that show the signs that it is not fake.) She's now sent me NINE messages and just threatened to report me to eBay if I sell it.

Should I report her to eBay? Should I just ignore and/or block her? I looked to see if there was a link to report the message but I don't see one. If I do decide to report her, how do I do it?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Re: Getting harassing messages claiming my item is fake

Did you check to see if she is selling?  She may be a competitor trying to intimidate you.

She might buy so you might want to BBL her.

The report this message button was removed a long time ago.  You can call to report her to eBay Trust and Safety.  Ask if they can note this on your account so if you have future problems, it is there.  Ask for a conversation reference number in case you need to call back and refer to this matter; then you give them that number.  You can call CS by following the contact us pages, or doing a google search under eBay.  The number will be there.  We are not permitted to post the number here.

Block her!

Life is too short for problems like this one.

Re: Getting harassing messages claiming my item is fake

Thank you for your help! I'm glad to know I haven't gone blind when I couldn't find the report button. XD

I hate making phone calls. Bleh. I wish I could email. But I'll call.

I initially thought she might have been a competitor as well, but she doesn't have any seller feedback so I guess not.

Thanks again! 🙂

Re: Getting harassing messages claiming my item is fake

I would ignore her. I get it a lot too. Items are authentic but then someone buys and says fake so you give it to them for free. They know there is nothing you can do and they will get a refund just by saying that. I have gotten to where I have started uploading the receipt when that happens. It is because of all these fakes from China.

So sorry you are experiencing this. Yes, block her immediately. Go to your Buyer Requirements and tick the box blocking messages from folks on your Blocked List. Call eBay and report the activity. You might check the Member to Member Contact policy. If she violates its terms, use that as the basis for your report. That policy has a report link in it. I’ll post the policy link below.

You're welcome!  She could sell on another id, and maybe is selling the same thing she is telling you is fake, trying to eliminate her competition as it were.

Keep the messages for the time being.  If need be, eBay CS can read the messages.  Also note her city, should someone buy that with another id, you can then match it and call if you are concerned.

@fashunu4eeuh is right.  Block both id on the BBL and block communications from this id.

I wouldn't bother with calling; nothing will happen.

She could be a competitor using a different id for selling.

As someone (castle?) said, when you block her make sure you block communications.  Since she hasn't had a transaction with you (we hope), that block will work.

Then, don't worry about it anymore.  relieved

Nope, that was fashunu4eeuh, I mistakenly just addressed the BBL, not the Communications block, which OP would want to do as well.

Re: Getting harassing messages claiming my item is fake

As others have said, block and ignore ignore ignore.

You should be able to create a filter in your email addy using her eBay ID that automatically puts any messages contain that ID into the trash unread.  The messages will still appear in eBay, but you don't have to respond to them and only need occasionally check your messages.  Make certain to mark her correspondences as answered in eBay, you do NOT need to even open them to do so.

This person sound like a petty soul who should be pitied and not feared.
