One week until the unofficial Holiday Season begins. A few brief things to consider as you get ready:
Your Store:
- Check your store. Is it clean, easy to navigate through, and are your categories proeprly in place? You can easily click the "Manage Store" button to make last minute changes.
- Use the "Featured items" option in your store to push the products that convert well for you
- Tell your story. Add this to your store and let the buyer get to know you.
Yoru Lisitngs:
- Are the listing titles keyword relevant and read properly? Do not use symbols ( !!! / & etc) , statements like "brand new" or "youll love it!" SEO does not use these terms to help buyers search for you and you could be filling those characters with keywords that do convert.
- 12 photos. The search engine wants 12 photos and you have the option to do just that. Fill the listing with 12 photos from all angles possible. Clean clear and scalable size photos with a white background will get you noticed. Your cell phone camera is all you need to do this.
- Item specifics. Fill them out completely. This is what the search engine uses to help the buyer find your item. Do not pass this information over as not important. This is how you get ranked. Fill it.
- Product description. Take the time to do this right. Start with a description title with font size no larger then 14 and no smaller then 12. Use bullet points in size 12-14 to describe each attribute of the product and use keywords as you do it. Again, keywords are the terms buyers use to find a product. ie "Apple iPad 5th Generation model"
Promoted listings:
- Use them and build the cost into your price. Using them gets more eyes on your listings as the ads float through buyer search. When these ads convert, it will raise the organic lisitng up the ranks.
Returns:
- Try and offer 30 day free returns. Build it into your cost. Buyers are shopping for presents that may or may not work out for the giftee. Buyers seek return policies at at an almost 70% rate. Your policy will factor into their purchasing decision. Make thew buyer have confidence in purchasing from you.
- Complete your returns within 2 days to avoid a buyer case opened. Be professional when discussing issues with buyers and their returns. eBay will review these messages if you in turn need help from eBay.
Sales:
- Now is the time for sales! I know Im looking for sale items and so are you. So get your inventory on sale for as low as 5% to stand out from the rest. Keep in mind you never have to have the lowest price to convert sales. Dont run your margins into the ground thinking you need to compete with overseas and large sellers. and have the best price. You dont. Some buyers will pay more because you are within 200 miles for example. Or, you have the best clean clear listings and photos. Many reasons to stand out besides best possible price.
