Since ebay forced us to use GTC, I have not been happy. Problems continue:
1) It literally took hours to manually cancel listings before they rolled over at first and you were forced to check a reason for cancelling that was not accurate. A few months ago, they added the end listings in bulk option, which allows you to bulk end, better but still time consuming and it doesn't allows work.
2) I live in a rural area, which means we lose power if there is a storm. Something I have no control over. Three times now, in the last year since the forced GTC, I've had to call ebay because listings rolled over that I did not want to roll over but couldn't cancel due to a power outage or because the ebay system was down (twice I kept getting "it's not you, it's us, error message when trying to log on). All three times they cancelled the rolled over listings and said to just call them if it happened again. I end them once they have less than 24 hours left, losing the last day of listings every time. PROBLEM, can't call now! Yesterday, I had 172 listings roll over because we had thunderstorms and I couldn't get online to cancel. Resulted in $60.84 in listing fees. I have emailed ebay twice now about them cancelling the rolled over listings and refunding the fees, no response.
This is frustrating, time consuming and a pain in the @#$!@#. I hate GTC, there has been zero benefit for me to have it.

...you are not the only unhappy one...
I have seen many unhappy posts regarding GTC. 😕

What do you do with them after you end them? Sell elsewhere? Relist later?

The bulk option does not required me to select a reason, allows me to end 200 listings at a time, and it works for me every time without fail.

It is not necessary to open each individual listing in order to end it. You can do it with check marks in your My eBay page of all active listings.
Since you know that you might have a power outage, it would be prudent to end listings a couple of days before they roll over.

So... you live in a place where you apparently lose power on a regular basis whenever there is a storm, and yet you don't have a backup power supply for your computer despite the fact that this has been an issue for you multiple times?
I'm not seeing how that one is eBay's fault or their problem to deal with.

Agree - we have power outrages fairly regularly due to wind storms and have an uninterrupted power supply - when the power goes out, my system shifts to the power supply, which also powers the modem. I do what I need to do, power down and go read my Kindle.
As for GTC - yeah, go to seller hub and just end all at once. I just ended 165 listings to do some tweaking and it took about 90 seconds.
ETA: These are issues that are on our side as sellers, and for which we need to take control.

You are working far too hard. There are easier ways to do what you have been spending too much time doing and just getting more and more upset with Ebay.
As others have told you, you can go to the Seller Hub, Active listings and select all the listing you want. The go to the action box at the top of the list just over the description and select "end". All done in just a few moments.
BTW, that reason for ending a listing is not important in any way. You could select anything you want it will not affect your account at all. I'm not even sure why Ebay has it for GTC listings.
I live rurally too, so I understand your issues with power outages. I'm lucky however, we have a generator we just plug in and I'm back up and running in minutes.
If you are getting no where with emailing Ebay try twitter or facebook.

The seller’s help center give you the ability for file for certain types of assistance.

It's important to be aware of where you post a question on Ebay’s Facebook page. A comment on one of Ebay’s marketing posts won't be answered, but comments posted directly on Ebay’s page will.

that happened before GTC, even with me a total little seller it happened - no its not fair but it has nothing to do with gtc.
people blame GTC for their own unwillingness to take control of their listings.

Remember the derecho in 2012? I'm in WV too and lost power for 9 days---fun times. I have a basic store on one of my IDs, which covers my listings upon rolling most of the time. The cost of it has been worthwhile so far for me, and way more convenient than worrying about ending listings--plus you get shipping supplies.
I have frustrating days with ebay too--had one a couple days ago, but they always pass. I take a tiny break and jump right back in. I just can't seem to quit them. 😋

I use INKFROG to list. THey have a widget that automtically ends your listings for you if you desire. It is a small expense IMO to use INKFROG.
THeir customer service is top notch. THey usually respond in 10 minutes or less if you ever do have an issue.
Been using them for years.
