I have 400 transactions with ebay and have even sold a Porsche on ebay motors.
I just sold a stereo unit and delivered it to the buyer. There is a 14 day hold on my funds.
Not eby's funds - my funds. Ebay has taken their cut. They just want the float on our money,
I have no incidents with ebay and no complaints. I'm being treated as a "new" seller after 21 years on ebay.
SELL ELSEWHERE!!!!

Of interest here, regarding the topic of returning sellers and new sellers, we saw a few days ago, a brand new seller who had been allowed by eBay to list two jewelry items at 5K and 6K. It seems, as a result of our cautions to him, that either he or eBay eventually pulled both listings.
And, that, dear readers is the reason that I'm reluctant to use that (you are a new seller to eBay and that's why you have restrictions) as the reason for eBay to limit a seller.

@wrong66 Why our "Business Partners" would of course ... they clearly state that's what Sellers are ... although they do not always get treated as such. I think however that "millions of calls" might be a little high but I certainly "get" the sentiment ...

I see a $2,295 power cord in your sold history but no stereo.
Items over $1000 can be held up to 30 days whether you're subject to a 21 day hold or not. So be glad it's a 14 day hold and not a 30 day hold.

What is the gain on float on the money? eBay doesn't earn interest on payments in the process of being paid.
They could be earning interest on the fees they take for themselves but they don't earn interest on your payment while it's held.

There is no way to know if the sellers you have purchased from have had their funds held or not.
If you don’t have signature confirmation of delivery on an item over $750, you will be vulnerable to having a case for item not received filed against you.
We all have wishes and ideas how any website (or business) should ‘improve’ to fit OUR needs and wants.
In reality, it is us who have to either change and accept that company as it is, move on to find a place that is a better fit, or create our own company and set our own rules.
It is ok that that not every site is our best fit. Don’t fight trying to fit in anywhere in life.

"....No need to hold my funds back from those sellers....."
I would wager that at least a couple of those sellers that you bought from are experiencing a 'hold' on their payment. But I bet you got your item.
They went through the same series of events you are experiencing. I just don't understand the resistance to being proactive and cautious for both your protection as well as ebay.......

This is exactly why I would never sell anything expensive on Ebay. Hold your funds or maybe get scammed.

If the policy applies to everyone who has not sold in quite some time, what's the explanation for the brand new seller who was able to list two high dollar jewelry items a few days ago? 5K and 6K.

It is clearly a "new" corporate model. Why service occasional sellers? - ebay just doesn't want the risk or rewards for only occasional use. Too bad, used to be a great site. But, to the enterprising a new niche in the market. I hear Jack Ma is leaving China.
I always thought that Ma (Alibaba) would buy Ebay except that Chinese companies often have dubious values with which to finance such a purchase. Ebay needs to spin off the old Ebay of small sellers, vintage, used, and antique items and then rebrand Iannone's new brand of an online platform for selling luxury expensive goods.

That's a good question, but a different scenario. One in which eBay "sometimes" goes by their own policy.

I'd assign that task to the team that designed the "New" selling page, & the "New, Improved" feedback system.
They'd have enough to keep themselves busy & wouldn't be able to "improve" anything else.

How is that a different scenario? A brand new seller who had no trouble listing more than one high dollar piece of jewelry vs an experienced seller who had his funds held. It's not different -- it's more like eBay not applying written restrictions to new sellers vs applying them to experienced sellers.

You are a new seller unless you are talking about a different account. It does not matter if you sold 1 million worth 5 years ago, you have to start all over with funds being held.
