I'm so angry at the moment. So I sold a iPhone 8 Plus 64GB unlocked and after 30 days of having the phone the buyer says the charging port had stopped working or something like that and it now has the "same problem as my old phone".
I never had any issues with the phone whatsoever and by him saying that the phone had the same problem as his old one literally shows that he fried it somehow the same way he did with his old phone + I have actual proof it was charging perfectly when I had it (took a picture luckily).
Anyways luckily I could cancel the return request as it was over 30 days.
My funds had temporarily been taken out of my PayPal account and placed on hold as soon as this return was opened. Usually when a return is closed in which my case it was, it should automatically be released in to your paypal account and accessible again but in my case this did not happen and after 2 week and 2 days my funds still haven't been returned to me.
I contacted both PayPal and eBay around 3 times each. They both juggled me around (ebay told me to ask paypal & paypal told me to go to ebay as according to them on their systems it was showing the case hadn't been closed) and in the end I gave up hoping it'll be released automatically. I waited 24 hours but with no luck I decided to open a live chat with eBay. I was promised the first time that a manual released of my funds was sent and I'd receive my funds within 24 hours. I took their word and waiting 24 hours. Having had no sign of my funds back the next day I told them about my situation. They said to wait another 24-48 hours and they have pushed a reminder for my funds to be reviewed. After waiting 48 hours I asked again about my funds after still not receiving it and was told they sent a brand new request and I should receive it within 24-48 hours. After that I was so angry to find out after waiting 48 hours I was given nothing! I called ebay up and they were going to do the same thing AGAIN but I told them I already tried it 3 times.
They forwarded it to a higher department and said that they would send a email to the eBay underground team or something like that who will manually release the funds. Its been a few days now and I haven't got anything
I know I'm not going to get my fund backs and I don't know what to do. I'm in a extremely vulnerable position right now as my paypal account is also negative because of this.
Id really appreciate some help.

I would guess that they are holding your money in case the buyer decides to file a claim with PayPal or their payment source, ie. Credit Card provider.
From eBay's Payment Hold page:
We may also place a payment on hold if we find any risk in the transaction, or if your buyer reports an issue, we may place a hold on your payment until the issue is resolved.

I am so sorry this happened to you. The scammers are out in full force and there is little help for sellers. Did you get the phone back? I was scammed from a buyer in AU and eBay helped zero with me.

Nope its definitely a eBay glitch as when I asked about the issue with their automated bot it said the case was still open even though it was closed.
